Excellent quality... but soooo dangerous
So dangerous ... I read reviews saying how dangerous honing wheels are, so I turned my machine around so if it catches it qould throw the knife away from me... well after the second near death experience I decided it wasn't worth it. Excellent quality wheel. Hurts my feeling to throw it away but mh wife made me

6" leather strop wheel
This is nicely manufactured and fitted like a glove, appears to do what it is supposed to do and that is a finishing polish.

Excellent ! ! ! Excellent tool for sharpening knives
I LOVE this leather strop wheel. The pros:* I have been able to sharpen knives SHARPER than any other method (stones, diamond blocks, belt sanders, angle jigs).* it sharpens FASTER than any other method I have tried.* This has sharpened even my hardest blades (e.g. knives made out of metal files). These are a booger to sharpen but no problem with this. The cons:* I have a 6" grinder and the wheel is the same size as the grinder body. See photo. Consequently you have to hold the blade at an offset to strop one side without changing the wheel to the other side of the grinder. See photo.Suggestions:* I wish my 6" grinder had a 5/8" arbor instead of the 1/2" so I could have bought the 8" model. Seller only makes 8" wheels with a 5/8" arbor. Purchase an 8" grinder. so the wheel is larger diameter than the grinder body.* You can turn the base of most bench grinders around so the rotational spin of the wheel is away from you. Just undo the 4 screws at the bottom of the grinder base and flip it 180 degrees. see photo This is much safer and I think it allows for a better view of the angle you are holding the knife next to the wheel.
