Love these augers!
I am so glad I decided to buy these augers. I purchased them because I wanted to dig holes for my flower bulbs. They worked wonderfully. However, there is one small issue...the larger auger bit part sometimes works loose from the drill. I think this happens because the bit does not have the proper seating definition to properly fit the drill head. This results in the bit slipping and falling out. There's nothing for the drill head to hang onto. The smaller auger worked fine.

This auger is AWESOME!
I live in North Carolina with very hard clay and rock soil. This auger works great to dig planting holes, loosen the soil for bigger holes and generally mix up the soil and amendments before planting. High quality metal and very solid. Highly recommended and the price is right!

Does the job.
Seems nice and solid and did the job. I got my planting done in half the time. If you have heavy or rocky soil, be weary of the strain these, especially the larger one, will put in your drill. A corded drill is probably the best option if you don't want to buy a quality cordless. One tip if you have rocky soil like me, brace the drill against your leg or it can really wrench your wrist if you hit a rock or root or something.

Very Good Heavy Duty Garden Auger Digging Tool
This garden auger digging tool is amazing. I have not used it for the garden yet, but it allowed me to do a ton of landscaping that required much digging. I used my heavy duty Rigid electric drill with the auger. Just be careful and use a powerful drill and make sure it has a side handle so not to injure your wrist. Using the larger 4 inch auger allowed me to easily bore down to about a foot or so and then it was very easy to dig out the trench for the drain line. I used the auger about every 6 inches and did that for about 18 feet. Used a medium size garden shovel and was able to dig out the trench in a fraction of the time that it would have taken if I just used the shovel to dig out the trench. If you use this garden auger in loam, then it won't be so important to have a super powerful drill. If it is loose garden soil then a regular drill would be adequate. Although, I would still recommend a drill with a side handle to keep from injuring your wrist. Highly recommend these garden augers.

Had to Plant a Tree
I had to dig a 3' wide by 3' deep hole for a 25-gallon tree. My backyard is very rocky and very hard, as is a lot of the soil in Tucson, AZ. I needed to go deep to improve the drainage. The smaller bit worked better as I was getting used to using them. Please also read the negative reviews to learn what not to do. If you will be digging in hard rocky soil, I recommend a cordless drill where you cannot put too much power on the auger. Also, if you can, use one with a torque setting so the drill will not damage your wrist or hand when it hits a good-sized rock. If you have to use a corded drill, keep the power level down a bit until you have mastered how to handle hitting rocks.

Not what I was expecting. It was light duty and broke the first time I used it

I like it!
This set of auger is very fast for planting and will work well even in clay or with a little bit of gravel in the soil.Drill planting auger bits can be found in a variety of lengths and widths to fit nearly any planting need. The auger I bought before was made of smelly plastic box metal, this product is obviously made of alloy steel and cold rolled steel.

Make landscape planting doable!
This auger (the larger one) is terrific when inserted in a 1/2" chuck. I recommend using the side handle on the drill to avoid a sprained wrist, should the auger hit something immovable underground. It's great for softening the ground so you can use a shovel for bigger holes, and it finds the roots that need cutting. I planted a large hibiscus easily in a place I had dreaded. (And it's returnable!)

Makes Gardening Easier!
Line up the spots for your plants, pop it on your drill and away you go! Just be careful with this until you get used to it. Worth the money and it’s kinda fun.
