The Best British Short Stories 2013

A poignant perfection in itself. Privileged to have read it. A work whose lark ascended.The detailed review of this book posted elsewhere under my name is too long or impractical to post here.Above is one of its observations at the time of the review.

I enjoyed the selection of stories I read but observed that Nicholas Royle may have had a particular preference to the stories published mainly because each story had so many similarities in the characters, the storyline and outcome. It was becoming predictable near the last two stories or maybe even before that.

This book is an amazing read, it's full of wonderful short stories (as it says in the title!) It was nice to see different stories in one book. Worth the money. AMAZING!

These stories range from the slightly experimental to more character-based pieces but what they have across the board is good well thought out writing. Highly recommended.

Something here to satisfy all tastes - a good selection.
