The Pendulum Bridge to Infinite Knowing: Beginning Through Advanced Instruction

There is a lot of good information here, especially for those new to dowsing with a pendulum. The writing style isn't bad, but it doesn't pull you in and make you read on - that was my only disappointment.I've been penduluming for over 30 years. There was some applications in this book I had not considered before, so that was fun to learn. But anyone can easily gather the necessary knowledge to dowse with a pendulum online without bothering with this book. On the other hand, if you want ideas for charts, this book has a boat load of them and the book may be worth the cost just for that alone. I would have liked to have had this 30-odd years ago when I was first starting to use the pendulum for dowsing.To address a conversation thread in some of the other reviews, I agree that there is no need to invoke any power, entity or spirit prior to dowsing. But - if one of your personal aims is to harmonize yourself, or build relationships, with the energies that are involved in manifesting, maintaining and changing the physical world, then invoking prior to penduluming is a good habit to get into.For instance, when I dowse for answers about my health and physical condition, I use the following invocation: "I ask all powers, spirits and entities involved in the creation and maintenance of my physical body and its functions to assist in this dowsing session." If dowsing for someone elses health, I'd just change the wording accordingly.The most important invocation of all is the one I begin with. It helps me to ground myself, it is like drawing a circle around me to create a 'space' for an interaction and work that consciously and unconsciously involves levels of being beyond my physical experience. It goes like this: 'I ask my inner self, my higher self, my soul self and my God self to turn their attention to and help this dowsing session.'I can tell the difference between dowsing with and without invocation. I get just as accurate answers without getting in touch with other levels of my being or other spirits. After all, we are really One anyways. But it does improve my own mindfulness, not just to the task of dowsing, but cumulatively, it helps me to include the unseen world into my daily experience of life.So, invoking or not invoking won't determine the validity of a dowsing session, but it may suit other purposes you may have to do it.

I bought this book being a bit experienced in using a pendulum but wanting to learn more and the description does say "Beginning to Advanced Instructions". Now I will honestly say that I skimmed over the first large chunk of the book because it was discussing that which I already know - how to connect with your pendulum, using the intuitive mind, exercises to work with your pendulum, etc. From what I can see, it will be very helpful for a person new to pendulum work because they will really get to know how to work with it in this manner. Parts I didn't agree with so much (and this is own personal preference) was how the author mentioned how you have to ask the Infinite each and every time if it is okay to use your pendulum at this time along with other such questions. I have never done so nor felt the need. I just pull out my pendulum and use it. There may be times that I ask "is this something I am not to know?" or some such question but that isn't always immediate. I also should mention here that I do not follow any religious path nor believe in any sort of godhead or deity therefore me asking the "Infinite" for assistance or the "okay" to use my tool would really be quite hypocritical of me. I also do not agree with a section where the author tells the reader that no matter how much they wish to use the pendulum for divination work that they are not to do it at all. The author warns the reader away from using the pendulum in such a manner and quite harshly if I might add even telling the reader that their pendulum will not work correctly for them if they do so ever again. I must say that I have never found this to be the case. I also want to add that I have not finished reading this book yet but I am over 3/4 of the way finished. I agree with the other reviewer that this book is written in an easy-to-follow and down-to-earth style. However, I do feel there are many times that the book is a bit airy-fairy. If it bothers you, skip over the airy-fairy parts and work the exercises and I think you'll get something out of this. However, it can be a good learning device - I just wouldn't limit this book to your only area of learning to use a pendulum. All I know is, I'm glad I only paid $1.92 for this book used. I just wish there were more "meaty" sections in the advanced area.

interesting concept

A great book for the beginner or anyone that may be interested in exploring the world of dowsing and use of a pendulum.

This manuel is an amazing collection of pendulum charts- perfect addition to my healing library. I have found no other pendulum book even close to what Dale Olson covers so comprehensively. I also appreciate the blank charts that open the pathway for the reader to design their own personal charts.

Excellent book - really enjoyed it

I already had all the author's charts which are fantastic and easy to use. However the book further enhanced my understanding of pendulum dowsing. I cleaned up my process after reading this book.
