How to set up
How to program, M1 = time on say 1800, then, duration of say 15mins then here comes the confusing part.M1= multiple times per day so if you set at 1hr it will come on as above at 1800 for 15mins on the hour.M2 = Once a day at 1800hrs for 15mins or you can set every other day etcM3 is days of week so you can miss a day etc.Hope this helps.

painful settingup but works fine once the settingup is done
The set up of this water timer is very similar to a boiler control pannel, which I feel confused aoubt. Luckily, the set-up video makes this easier than reading the instructions. However, I still found the single press, double press, short press and long press very confusing. It offers mutiple watering timings each day, the LCD screen is big and clear to read. Anyway, setting up was not a pleasant procedure. But once it was setup, my nightmare has finished. The unit looks well made and durable. It comes with all necessary accessories for the installation. It is powered with 2AA batteries which are not provided though. But its not a problem for me. The PTFE tape is a thoughtful idea for a watertight fit. It works well with my 3/4 threaded tap. I especially like the 'rain delay' feature of this water timer. It saves your plant from being over watered and help avoid waste of water.I think I probably use the manual watering function only when the weather is hot and dry. I can water the plants only when I want to do so. All I need to do is to set the duration of watering just in case I forget the water is running (it happed a few times in the past and it was painful to realize how much water I had wasted).

Not as easy to set up as some! But at this price what would you expect?
I have used two other makes of these water timers and both, though more expensive, were easier to set up.In the box you get the water timer and a hose screw in attachment together with a small instruction manual.First I put in the batteries. Not an easy task as one kept popping out. Resolved that and pushed on to the instructions.Sounds easy enough to set up but I had difficulty. First its got the batteries in and it turns on. I press the on button fr 3-5 seconds and nothing on the digital screen changes. Try several times then decide to take the batteries out and start again. it works.Setting the year month and day is good and then I try to set the water on timer through M1. Yep won't do it though after several attempts I get M1 to flash and I set the water distribution timer. Now to test. Hook it up to the water stop valve and after a fiddle about I get water to flow.On the upside it looks nice. On the downside you should bring it in when temperatures fall below 4.5 degrees. Its February and 3 dress so it comes in.Full test on the garden hopefully in March.

Does the job
Works. And that's what matters the most. Easy to adjust the settings once you've figured out how to set it initially. Happy with this.

Robust and very well priced, a bit hard to set up
The case is robust and, accordingly to specs, fully weather proof (IP65 rated). However, it is not suitable to stay out all year long because it does not agree with temperatures under 4 degrees C. This said, I am not very likely to irrigate the garden in winter, so it is not an issue for me, June to October only. The controls are a bit complicated. Maybe it's just me, but I had to use the manual and it is one of those rare devices for which I will keep the instructions stored and safe.It takes a few AA batteries, not included. I used my own rechargeable ones and they worked fine. For the price, beside being not too instuitive to set, it is pretty good and allows to set irrigation times quite precisely and reliably (at least, when I tested it, I still have to use it for real outdoor).

Robust garden watering timer with great features
I've wanted a watering timer for some time now and never found one that was either the right price or did the right things, this one is a great price and has so many really good features. It needs two batteries which are not supplied and it looks and feels well made and robust. I especially like that it came with a small reel of ptft tape to use when fitting it which is a very thoughtful thing indeed.Setting it up is a little complicated but not impossible, once you've set the date and time it's fairly easy from there on. As for the features it obviously can be set to water your plants at set times and for set lengths of time. You can also set it for manual watering when you want to give your plants an extra water when it is very hot and dry. A useful feature is the rain delay which you can set if it is going to rain so that your plants dont get too much water. Wierdly for me the most impressive setting is the manual watering setting as you can also use this to use your hose to wash your car etc. I only have one outside tap and this feature is especially useful as all I need to do is unclick the watering hose and attach my car wash hose, set the length of time I will need to wash my car approx and away I go with no need to disconnect the timer from the tap.My garden is especially dear to me and going away during the warmer months is always difficult as I usually have to get someone to come and water my vegetable plants and flower tubs and baskets for me but now this little device means I no longer have to rely on other people and even get to take it a littel easier in the garden myself.
