Q: how is this switched on?

There is not a switch, you have to install one. or you can pull the plug as I do.

Q: How did this light end up comparing to the original Lectric XP light?

I have a 48v Rad Rover and this light is way brighter than the stock one. I'm very happy with the light

Q: what type of connectors does this have?

It has a male 2-pin Julet connector. My e-bike also terminates in a male 2-pin Julet connector, so I had to find a F-F 2-pin Julet cable, which I found on Amazon. There’s excess cable but it meant I didn’t have to cut the connectors off and slice wires, making it easier to change out the light should I want a different one. OZ-USA has a dual-emitter ebike headlamp that is much brighter - on the order of 1000-1500 lumens. It uses 10W, which most ebike controllers support. No built-in reflector on that one though, so if your local laws require one, you’ll have to find a way to attach one in addition to the light.

Q: does it work with Rattan LM 750?

So long as it has a female 2-pin Julet connector, it should. Those are usually throttled to 6-12VDC, and this light works across that range.
