Best toy ever
All ages love this toy from 1-41. Baby can play too since no loose parts. Expensive but worth it. Very good quality. My only problem with this particular set is that there are a great number of pieces that are not magnets. The kids don't really play with those parts. I would much rather have had more magnet pieces. They also say they come with cards which made me believe they were cards to give you ideas what to build, but turned out to be little ABC cards that you can slide in these plastic boxes. We have other sets so we have idea books, but actual idea/starter cards would be very helpful if you've never built with these before. My kids also like to follow directions to build like with Legos.

Magformers great, but i thought the cards were building cards too
okay so first of all, this is what comes in the set:Miracle Brain Contents ListPiece NumberSquare 35Triangle 39Isosceles Triangle 10Mini Rectangle 4Rectangle 4Diamond 4Trapezoid 4Pentagon 2Hexagon 2Super Triangle 4Super Square 6Mini Sector 8Mini Arch 4Sector 8Arch 8Super Sector 8Super Arch 4Cone 4Right Triangle 2Super Rectangle 1AccessoriesWheels 2Wheel w/square 4Boy Square 1Girl Square 1Carnival Base 1Hexagonal Plate 2Y Shaped Support 2Carnival Axis 1Fixing Wheels 2Big Gun 1Small Gun 1Propeller 2Antenna 1Magnetic Rotating Block 8Pulley 1Crane 1Insert Square 18Pyramid Square 6Triangle Block 2Extention Hinge 2LED and USB cord 1RC Control 1RC Front Wheel 1RC Motor Wheel 1Core Cube 6Square Frame w/triangle mark2Extention Pyramid 4Square Frame w/square mark 4Door Frame 6Square Frame w/circle mark 4Circle Tube 2Square Tube 2Connector 4Cards 40___________This is our 4th magformer set but our biggest, also this is the set with the most accessories that we own, we really needed accessories to expand our imagination.Kids are happy.I thought 40 cards was those laminated cards that show you how to lay the pieces out - like in the videos. This is not the case. This makes me unhappy, i wish it would be possible to get those cards from somewhere - i actually think they SHOULD be included in every box , especially these big and SUPER expensive box sets- the company can print out and laminate some cards.Aside form this one , very large flaw, i can not really fault the product, it should however rename 40 cards because that is misleading.Update 1:Waiting for company to respond to my request regarding the cards. In the meantime my kids are having fun with the product but they ARE limited in getting the most out of this set due to the lack of instructions. So many times i go and show them the video or pull up the images from the computer for them to build and it takes us forever to figure out how they did it! Many times i can not figure it out myself because i can not see the image from all sides.Without the instructions i feel like i have half a product .Update 2:Magformers provided me with 2 large PDF files - 70 pages in total that have "ideas" and step by step guides for building different items. I am going to inquire at an office supply/printing place on how much it will cost to print+laminate and collate these. They do not have ALL the instructions but it is a lot more useful than having nothing.

No instruction cards in box
I bought this set a month ago as a birthday present for my son, and we opened it today. As background, we are BIG Magformer fans and probably have all the major sets. This one, is by the far the most expensive (bought it when it was still at $350), making it an incredibly pricey toy.So, imagine our disappointment when we open the box and find the 40 instruction cards that are promised, missing!!! Given the number of pieces and many of them new (RC wheels, LED light, new shapes and accessories), what could have been a haven of imaginative and educational play...and now just become a bewildering array of gadgets with little instruction for a young child to follow. At 6 years old, he loses patience with complex pieces fast if there are no instructions and ends up building the same things with the pieces from older sets, because he doesn't know how to use the new ones.Very disappointing for the price. I hope Magformers / Amazon sends me the instruction cards asap or refunds me for this.

It's an excellent product, but instruction booklets are very primitive
It's an excellent product, but instruction booklets are very primitive, and absolutely not enough. Probably about 15 design ideas. You would expect, buying most expensive set, that this set would contain almost everything, and you would be able to build almost everything. Not so much. Instructions are very poor. Packaging is very poor. Once removed from the box, it is impossible to place it back, and it is impossible to store it in that box, because box is too big. There are 40 cards promised, you would expect that those cards would be design ideas. There are no cards in that set. Actually, there are some cards, 1 inch by 1 inch, with letters and symbols. There is no instructions on why they are there and how to use them. Overall, I wouldn't buy it again. It is much easier to get several complete smaller sets. I wouldn't expect it to be more expensive, but at list you will have several instructional booklets, and instead of 15 design ideas, you would end up with 60 or more

Creates an innovative hobby for Kids
Undoubtedly this is an excellent toy for kids. The magnet is very powerful and it doesnt fall off easily. This powerful magnet helps the kids to build the shapes without fear or disappointment. The price is bit high but fully satisfied with the quality and performance.

Best buy
This is by far one of our fav toys. It goes on sale a few times a year and you can pick it up for around $250 or less if you wait. We have bought two of these four our four kids and everyone plays with them. I would say that it could use a few more of the super magformers and those are worth getting too. The "cards" the set cmes with are not instruction cards but little cards that fit into pieces so you can make dice or use for school. We compaired a few of the other sets and we feel this set is much better than the super brain set. The variety in this set is much greater, lot more unique shapes.
