I have a 4-5 year old Tabby that has longer fur and long body. She is also just about full grown size. After going through an obscene amount of reviews and seeing the consensus for similar cats was an XS I decided on the XS. It’s been a few weeks now since it arrived and began using it, so my thoughts on this definitely would be the XS is still somewhat big. My cat has no problems with me putting it on her and leaving it on. She never tried to take it off, but when she lays down, although all the straps are at the tightest they can go, if she rolls or moves a certain way when laying down she can easily remove her legs without even trying, which then is simple to pull her head out. After much trial and error I found that it is much easier to get a tighter fit by adjusting everything first before snapping it into place. Once my cat is out and about walking around my worry about it coming off goes away, but I still am hesitant when/if she lays down that it will loosen up on her legs and she could get away. I do suggest giving it at least a week for the cat to get acclimated to a harness and leash, especially if they never worn one like mine and to play around with the adjustments. I do think this harness will be too big for kittens or cats younger. Overall the quality is really top notch and I feel my cat will not escape and be safe with the harness and leash. Just make sure you measure your cat well, do not skip that step or you may not have a cat to even wear a harness anymore.

I almost went for a size small without measuring but I decided to measured my cat and glad I did because she was a XS. When I put it on her, I tighted the neck and rib using did the 1-2 finger rule and made sure it was not too loose but tight enough incase she decides to try to get out of it. She obviously was not used to it and lay down alot but I knew it would take some time for her to get used to it. Her first weekend outside with the harness went really well. She did try to wiggle out of the harness a few time but I was there to calm her down and she was unsuccessful. She only did it because I wasn't allowing her to go to where she wanted. But if I follow her she doesn't seem to try to get out. Overall this is a good product. Would recommend it.

Beau tolerates us putting this on him because he knows he gets to go outside. It is easy to put on and the clips are secure and don't come undone. He doesn't seem to be uncomfortable while wearing it. We have, however, had him escape from it a few times. If he gets tangled on something, he works his way around and backs right out of it. It feels snug when we put it on him but maybe it needs to be tighter. Overall a good product and would buy again if the need arises.

My cat adapted immediately to this harness. Very easy to quickly put it on him and adjust, if needed. He doesn't seem to feel encumbered, and can leap up onto surfaces. Well made - I have no worries about it falling apart or him escaping. Leash is a nice length - allows him room to roam independently without me needing to closely shadow him. I just ordered one for my other cat. My cat is almost 16 lbs and the S is the perfect size. He seems to enjoy this new opportunity to safely explore outside.

the mesh straps seem to deter the shortening of the straps and by time you adjust it for a kitten (toribe) they are dragging the ground, suggest to seller/manufacturer to remove inner straps for more tightening and reduce strap length, due to measurements being off for other regions compared to sellers. as other customers have pointed out. I bought the smallest one and kitten kept getting her legs stuck in upper chest area.overall, great product potential otherwise need to adjust measurements or fix straps.

My little tuxie loves her harness! It didn't take long at all for her to adapt to it. The one thing keeping it from being five stars is the fact that I have to squeeze her little head into the thing. I saw one reviewer who changed the way the neck piece works so that it's attached with velcro. While that doesn't seem secure enough (maybe more of the snap-in things would work better), it might be easier to get on and off the cat. For the record, she is 8.5 lbs and it fits quite well. We've already taken a few indoor and one outdoor strolls in it!

Bought this for a cat that we’ve raised from a kitten. He showed up on our porch when he was several weeks old (along with his mom). He’s a ginger kitty and he is very friendly, with a unique personality. To be able to allow him to safely go outside, we thought we’d try getting a harness. He doesn’t love having it put on or when we take it off, because you have to slide it over his head/ears/whiskers, but he’s been allowing us to put the harness on him, and he’ll go outside and check things out. He seems to be adjusting to it very well, and likes being able to go outside and explore. It seems comfortable to him, and it’s fairly easy for us to use and adjust as needed. Seems like a quality affordable kitty harness so far! We ordered the XS size, and I think the small is for larger cats.

Good material and workmanship. However the front diameter was a wee bit too tight (the back was fine) and the length between front and back harness could not be adjusted. Would have been a better fit otherwise. Gave it away and looking for one with more adjustable options.

Gekocht toen mijn kat nog een kitten was (3 maanden). Fijn te verstellen, want hij past nog steeds! (Hij is nu 1 jaar en een flinke kat van 5,5 kg) Hij vindt het helemaal niet erg om aan te hebben, want het is van zacht materiaal en verdeeld de druk goed. Het vestje wordt zo’n 2 keer per week gebruikt, zodat de kat mee in de trein kan. Ik heb hem nu zo’n 9 maanden en hij is nog zo goed als nieuw!Het enige nadeel is dat je hem op het hoofd van de kat aan moet doen. Daar krijgt mijn kat een te dikke kop voor.

The leash itself is lovely, study and comfortable for my cat but I've found the adjustments are a little off, fits perfectly around my cats neck but lots of belly room she keeps getting her paw through. Im sure will fit her when she's bigger but id only order for cats 12 month +
