This food meal does the job perfectly!
I use this for making mashed potatoes and for making homemade marinara sauce. When you make your mashed potatoes using this food mill you will end up with the most fluffy mashed potatoes - better than any restaurant.

Nice. Glad I choose this mill.
Great food mill. Easy to use, clean, and does good grind. Great as a basic mill.

Very nice, with a surprise
This is my first food mill. I bought the 2 qt model, thinking the 4qt model was too big. I like the solid construction and attractive appearance. The mill works pretty well. I've made applesauce and "squeezed" pomegranate juice. The 2 qt size is fine for those two uses. I could see how the 4 qt model is more appropriate if you do heavy duty amounts, such as for canning. I knew in advance that the wire handle is not ideal. I would agree that it is a bit uncomfortable. Since you are holding it for maybe 5 minutes, it's only a minor annoyance. The one surprise I had was...on the 4 qt model, and on competing models, the grates are removable and interchangeable. For the 2 qt model, the grate is built in and can't be removed. This makes it harder to clean. I suspect this also limits the uses for the 2 qt model, although for my uses this hasn't affected me. If I had realized that the grate was non-changeable, I probably would have bought the 4 qt model, just to have a more versatile food mill. Overall, it's a solid product that is good for light to medium duty, or small to medium amounts.

Easy to use, clean, and did a fantastic job.
This is a great product. I can my own vegetables every year. Needed this specifically to make my homemade spaghetti sauce. Used this food mill to run my tomatoes thru to remove the skins and seeds. Did an excellent job. It was easy to use and clean.

This didn’t work for me!
Although it is made from good quality stainless steel I was not able to mill tomatoes, raspberries, or strawberries properly. Too much waste, not enough separation of skins and seeds.

Good quality. It's not an easy task, no matter what you use.

Works Great, Easy to Clean
I see what others mean about that it seems hard to clean, as patches of applesauce fruit leather do stick to the grate. However, a few minutes of poking from the reverse side with a toothpick took care of that, and left a tasty bit of fruit leather besides! Easy to use, makes a very creamy blueberry-applesauce. Keeps the Doc away, keeps ya reg'lar, and protects your eyesight, should be eaten every day! If you're using it to separate the meat from the peels, do just a little at a time, because the peels will cover the grating, so you'll need to empty the bowl and run the crank anti-clockwise, and the blade will scrape most of the peels off the grate so you can dump them out and refill the bowl.

Limited use
This might be great for grapes, berries, applesauce, but it did not work at all for me. (1) Did not process anything: I put in rice that was so soft, watery and falling apart that it was almost like rice pudding. Instead of passing through the sieve, it just got pushed around and around. I churned it for five minutes by the clock and nothing came through into the bowl, though the sieve did get enough in it to get clogged. The wire on the underside did not scrape anything off and the mill just chased the food around the bowl. I don't know if having sieves with different sizes of holes would solve the problem, as I don't feel the mill was able to press the contents of the bowl through anything. (2) Was awkward to keep the mill on the bowl: I sized the bowl with forethought so that it would fit the two legs of the mill, but during churning, it required concentration to keep it from falling off. I saw that other mills on the market corrected this problem by having 3 legs instead of 2. Seems obvious. (3) Not easy to clean: If I used this once a season for processing fruit, it could be okay, but to use it every day for pureeing food would be a pain. Once I unscrewed it to clean it, I discovered that it had packed a lot of the food into small spaces, so it had to be cleaned with a brush, and it was not easy to dislodge. This could be great for some uses, but it is not the versatile tool I expected it to be. I have used mills of this type before for baby food and never had a problem with putting in foods of different consistencies. Everything passed through easily and came out the underside in a puree, quickly, easily. I was disappointed that this one didn't work for me. It could work for you.

I used this for apples and it took a bit of poking with the spatula to get everything, but it was low-effort and worked well. I love the double clips so that it sits over the top of a pot without moving around too much. Easy to clean if you have a scrub brush for your dishes (I imagine it would shred a sponge)!

All it does is smooth the food under the blade, regardless of how tight the nut is or how you angle your grip to try and get some pressure on the back edge of the blade. And the arms that hold the mill on the pot are hopelessly weak and bend with the slightest pressure. Sorry, I really hate to write these kinds of reviews - but super dissapointed.

Great product easy to clean.

I didn't realize when I ordered this one after looking at dozens of them that this one doesn't have the interchangeable discs. Others had 3 different discs, this one just has one fixed disc that doesn't come out to clean. Hoping it works well. Haven't used it yet.

The seive is a lot smaller than expected. Also the part that's supposed press whatever your working with doesn't press anything. You can't adjust the part that does the pressing to make it tighter. I wanted it to press wild grapes for jelly. Very disappointed.
