Do the job.
The plastic these are made of doesn't feel as sturdy as the brand name counter I already own, but there isn't really anything wrong with them. If you're like me, you move between projects and that's exactly one of the reasons you need to have a few of these. I am quite happy with this purchase.

Who knew?
I've been knitting for years, and never felt inclined to use stitch counters until now. I love these! I use one color to count Stitches, and one to count rows, and it makes life sooooo much easier! When using straight or cabled needles I place them on my needle at the beginning of the round, and they travel with my work. When using dpn's a locking stitch marker tied onto the stitch counters with a small piece of yarn allows me to hang them on the first couple of stitches on the row, and move it up as I add rows. Who would have thought such a tiny accessory could be so useful?

Problems with these can be solved
I knew that these would have some problems but figured for the price if some of them are ok they would be worth it.Sure enough, some of them were really difficult to turn but I got them to work. Here's what I did: There were some very small pieces of the plastic on the red ones that stuck out in a sharp point. I took a nail file and filed them flat. That immediately made it easier to turn. It didn't take long as the points were tiny. Then I took one of those rubber grippers used for opening jars and turned the tight ones multiple times. That did the trick. They don't turn as easily as the ones that cost $5.00 each but they are fine and I can use all of them. I always have several knitting projects going at once so I use a lot of these and these will work.

Very Poor Quality, Can’t Recommend
I was excited to get these, and then was very disappointed. Didn’t expect them to be super high quality...but I didn’t expect half of them to not turn at all, some to have upside down numbers (one side regular, the other upside down), the printing ink is so light it is difficult to tell what the numbers are, and some of the printing is off-set, so the number is only half visible. Pretty much junk.

Buyer beware….
Hate giving any product less than 3 stars, but sometimes it has to be done. This set appears to be a great value IF they all worked. There are two sizes in the package Red (larger) and blue (smaller). Larger red counters are great. The blue one’s do not work properly. The numbers do not “click” into place as on the red counters, but more or less easily spin around making them useless for using for knitting. One would barely have to hit the blue one’s on anything (your arm, lap, chair, etc.) and the counter would move, upsetting your row count while you are knitting. So while it seems like a great deal to get 10, you only have 5 in the package that actually work properly.
