1,001 Chemistry Practice Problems for Dummies 1st Edition

I bought this book (electronic kindle version) because I was having trouble with the questions in my chemistry textbook. I have trouble with chemistry and am a returning student so I knew I needed to get all the help I could get. This book is great because unlike most textbooks this will give you lots and lots of exercise problems (compared to the 5 they give you in textbooks).The practice problems helped me get a grasp on things I was struggling with and the explanations are perfect (unlike textbooks which provide no explanation). I especially like the format because I could select a section I knew I needed help with and practice without feeling overwhelmed; buying the kindle version worked great for me too because it allowed me to do some problems on my lunch break (I have access to a computer) and don't have to lug an extra book around.I bought this series for statistics and anatomy and physiology hopefully they'll be as good as this one!

(1) Laid out very well in terms of sequential topics. (2) Half the book consist of problems. The second half consist of step by step explanations to problems. (3) Very good for all strata in chemistry academia be it newbie in high school; freshman in college needing a quick refresher or teacher needing work that builds towards advanced concepts per topic. (4) Terrible for copying worksheets due to dimensions which is why it is best if you have matte black classroom desks for students to solve problems with chalk.

This looks like a good aid for an introduction to Chemistry!

I am a college student who had to take General Chemistry. Practice really makes perfect when learning Chemistry and this book saved my life. There are plenty on practice problems and answers are provided with explanations. I highly recommend this book if you are looking to get more practice solving Chemistry problems.

I never had luck in high school with chemistry and did not have to take it during undergrad, but I am about to enter a postbacc program and will be doing a year of chemistry and I cannot make under a B grade. I bought this hoping for introduction to basics so I can become familiar with chemistry ahead of when classes start. Unfortunately, there is no text other than explanations for answers. I have no idea what every prefix or unit is so these problems are essentially useless to me unless I purchase a pricey textbook and learn the old fashioned way.

A must have to get extra practice for high school chemistry or beginners college chemistry.

Excellent book. Bought it for my son who is doing Chem 30. Provided a lot of additional information that helped him understand many of the concepts. For the price an excellent investment.
