Added security and extra liters!
Just finished a two day trek on the Laurel Highland Trail in Western Pennsylvania. I had been looking for something to contain extra liters to filter through my Katadyn BeFree Gravity filter and then discovered this actually fit the filter! Found this one used-like new for $14 on Amazon and it arrived without having been used. The first and second night both water pumps at the shelters were not producing enough water so the wide mouth on the Hydrapak allowed me to scoop up water from the local streams. I brought it along and loved the fact that I could filter 3 liters (Katadyn) for my camelbak and have another 3 liters (Hydrapak) to filter for drinking at the shelter. Do I need to have both with me at the same time! No. However, friends were with me so I had water to share with them while they waited for their Iodine tablets to kick in. I used the hanging strap from my Katadyn, attached the filter and hose from the Katadyn and was able to securely hang the Hydrapak using one of the attachments on the pak without any issues. The pak easily rolled up when not in use. The screw cap also fit my Katadyn water bladder. Heavy duty. Love it!I love the fact that I can freeze this serving another purpose especially on a road trip. Finally, I created a past of baking soda and washed the inside before use. Did not notice any kind of tasted after filtering water from the Hydrapak. Highly recommend!

Well made durable and easy to use simple and gets the job done.
Well made durable and easy to use- its simple and gets the job done. I find that the water taste a little Different after having been in the hydrapak for a few hrs but my husband doesn't feel the taste change. We took it on 5-6 dayhikes & its definitely a good product & i would recommend it if u are looking to carry less weight. We love ours & plan to use it more in spring for more day hikes. In the first pic the hydrapk is resting against a coat rack.

great bottle especially with the filter but why did they change the treads.
This water bag is holding up well and works great with the filter you can get. the only think I don't like is the threads ate just slightly different than the smaller hydrapak soft flask bottles so you cant interchange the lids and filter. the threads are so close its stupid that they wouldn't make them the same.

Useful on long hikes
Absolutely love this holds about 3 liters of water and it saves space as you drink the water. Carrying water on Long hikes will make this a lot easier. I prefer this over water bottles since water bottles hold their shape and this container collapses as you use it.

Excellent Product
My son used this bag with the Katadyn Befree Replacement Cartridge during an high adventure camping trip. He said, he was able to filter and refill his 3 liter bladder and 1.5 water bottle with clean, safe, drinking water lickety-split. They also used it to filter water for cooking at camp. The Hydrapak is durable, lightweight and rolls or folds nicely in the storage bag provided. Definitely a great purchase.

Great product with one minor adjustment.
Love this bag. Like others, I use it with my befree filter and it works great. Like other have mentioned, it can be hard to fill if you don’t have a fast running water source, but anything like this will have that problem. I ended up filling the befree bladder and filtering into the seeker. My only real gripe is that the lid doesn’t have any sort of tether. I was constantly worried I’d lose the thing.

but it's pretty durable. It's shaped as an oval cylinder rather ...
Tough material, this isn't as rugged as the dromedary bags but it's lighter. Well, the same material as the standard Hydrapak reservoirs I guess, but it's pretty durable. It's shaped as an oval cylinder rather than a flat pouch which is nice, it slips into the side pocket of my pack really well. There are little molle strips to attach it to something, or clip onto it or something. I hooked it to my chest strap as it was almost empty and I was almost dead and just trying to suck a little down at a time. So that was nice. The cap is loose, it could be displaced, but it's time I grow up and keep tabs of my stuff.

Favorite Bag
I love this sturdy bag. The mouth is off-center to make it easy to fill in streams. I like that there's only one opening. I take off the BeFree filter I use with it, fill the bag, and recap. My filter stays out of the source water and I feel more secure with sleeping with it in my bag on cold nights. There are three lashing points on the bag. They don't appear to be sturdy enough to carry a full bag of water. I tied cord to it as a safeguard against losing it to the current and keep my hands out of the water if I don't want to get them wet.
