2 Green Beeps, 5 Red Beeps
I got the dreaded error after turning it off. For the first few weeks I could try turning it on repeatedly and it would eventually work. However, it got to a point where it would just give me the error beeps. Until I found out that if you turn the case at various angles while turning it on, it magically will go on properly. This has been working for a few weeks now, fingers crossed that it holds up.This thing has been amazing at keeping the f'ing cats off the dining table. It won't work on the floor because they will jump over or crawl underneath it. They need something to keep them on the mat to complete the circuit to zap. We use 3 mats for one of our tables. We also use the mats on other elevated surfaces. So far so good.Currently using the "EBL 9V Rechargeable Batteries Lithium ion 9V 600mAh Batteries 600mAh (5 Packs) with 5 Bay 9V Battery Charger 2A Input for Smoke Alarm Detectors" and charge holds up well....for now.

Oh they work
I learned the hard way a few times. My dog doesn’t like them but he hasn’t experienced the zap. Turning them on can be finicky but for the prices I can deal with the hassle

Works like a charm…
So well that my husband went to set down a casserole dish to put the lid on it (with his finger beneath the dish) and you got it….zap!! I can always tell when my heard to learn kittys jump up on the counter. They are not phased except the initial shock and back down to the floor they go. Maybe someday they’ll learn and I can put these away.

Hmmm
I have another brand like this, compared to that one, this specific shocker isn't as good. No frequency settings and it is hard to turn off. Its easier to remove the battery than to hold the button for what seems hours. This one cost the same as the other, so if I were to buy one of them again, I would go with the other.

Doing it’s job!!
The mats are doing its job. Keeping the cats away from the air filters. We initially bought two filters that have outer mesh covers and one of our cats decided to use it as a scratching post. Well, we put a stop to that. We placed the mat and it’s working out just beautifully! 👍🏼

Keeps dogs off the couch
The media could not be loaded. This is our second one we purchased because the first one my dog chewed it. Why? Well that is because i tale the battery out when its not being used. Then i forgot to put it back. If i could change anything I would add an on & off option. When we have to sit we have to remove the battery so we don’t get zapped. Its a pretty good hit too. The dogs got zapped and it only takes on hit before they understand its not okay to jump on the couch while we’re gone.

Very effective. Updated
The media could not be loaded. Update: it has only been eight short days and my cat has already learned how to avoid this mat entirely by either running across it like a maniac or stepping in the right spots where the electric lining is missing. My other cat, who is very skittish, stepped on the mat once and is now forever afraid of the kitchen. Unfortunately, the trouble maker continues on her quest to destroy the kitchen. My cat has been extremely difficult to deal with concerning the kitchen. She's climbing surface upon surface to knock things off shelves, climbs on the oven to lick pans and any remnant of cooking that can be found, moves the sink cover to lick the drain strainer, you name it and she's getting into it. I honestly didn't think anything would work to keep her in check, she's moved weights and dealt with every obstacle course I've created to stop her. At my wits end, I saw these and thought why not, I've tried everything else. I set the mats up today which took less than a minute to do and figured I'd wait for her to try and enter the kitchen to see if it works at all. As you can see by the video, she hates it. She hates the noise, she hates the shock, and ever since encountering the mat she just glares at the kitchen. I can not express how happy I am to finally keep her outside of the kitchen so I can no longer wake up to busted open bread, snack boxes, recycling bins tipped over, etc. If you're dealing with a monster, I strongly suggest you try these.

Customer Service is Great and Matts Work Well
I ordered the 2 pack as I needed to cover a large surface area. One of the matts did not work and as soon as I contacted customer service about it, I received prompt replies, and a new matt was shipped and arrived within days to replace the broken one. They are a good value for the price and were a last resort for me to keep my Great Dane off the bed when I am gone. She has some knee and spinal health issues that could become detrimental if she were to get off the bed wrong when I am gone and has a bed that is more expensive than mine for her use. I was getting tired of having a suitcase, two chairs, and multiple plastic spiky matts to arrange everyday as blocks only to come home and find her on the bed and often stuck in a bad position as she shoved things around. She has only gotten on the matts one time that I know of (I watched her with a camera for a few days). She has tried to lift them up from underneath but gave up as she realized they were to long for her to move. The 9V batteries seem to be holding up well. I have them on for most of the day 5 days a week and after 2-3 weeks have not had to change it out. (I don't know how long they would last if tested repeatedly by a dog). Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and glad that they could be saving me a major vet bill as she has enough of those.
