Extreme Max 3005.4248 Dog Ladder/Ramp Platform - Clear Anodized, Standard

Good product design. Very well made. Light weight and easy to transport. The only problem was the cables broke the first time weight was put on the platform. I have made lifting cables before and this design will never work as intended.

Ordered for memorial day weekend to help Lab get back in the boat, fast shipping. Assembled, installed on boat and lowered platform, pushed on it to check security and 1 cable came apart. Contacting co. Our other complaint is the heavy duty rough sandpaper for grip. I feel like it would tear up our soon to be grand daughters legs and dog pads after a day of floating in the lake. Edit No customer support. Broke cable. Update, bought 1/8 cable and wedges made a cable crimped in vise. After adjusting and getting right ht. Anchored down in cove and getting our lab use to it. Low & behold here comes a pontoon and waves behind it. The platform went up & came off ladder rung, straps holding it broke and is now at the bottom of the lake in 8ft of water. The top bracket is too wide and loose for a ladder rung and needs a way to secure it other than the cheap straps. Still no contact from company.. literally $138 down the drain. Ordered another 1 from the warehouse that was returned with intentions of modifying. Where is the quality control Amazon, Both cables came broke. Glad I'am somewhat of a handyman, I would return it. The co did return my email and said they are sending 2 new cables. I have a friend making a new bracket that goes over the ladder rung with intentions on installing pins so it cant jump off the rung. Also a rope will be attached just in case. Cables arrived from co, thankyou they have resolved the cable issue, terminals are solid, no more cheap wedges. I suggested making the bracket 3" deep and 1 1/2 wide to fit the ladder better. Modified, works great. Re-purposed the broke cables for the pins.

Other than the cables failing it is a good set up. May take a little tweaking. Will fit on swim ladder hooks on a glass boat with little modification of the hooks. Dog is happy now.

Seems really well built... with the exception of the crimp on the cables. First time dog stepped on they broke. Fairly easy fix, but a little irritating.

Platform is held up those two support wires. First time I used this product with my blue heeler/border collie mix (he's 80lbs), it broke. I was on the boat helping my dog onto the platform when it broke and ended up falling in and scraping up the side of my leg pretty bad. I did reach out to the company and I did not hear back. I'm thankful that my dog was not hurt and that I didn't sustain a more serious injury as a result of their poor product. Goes without saying... but I can't recommend.

Disappointed is an understatement. The product does not work (the holes for the “quick pins” are not drilled correctly, the pins don’t stay in, the cables broke on first use). But what is by far the worst, is the customer service. I now have a $250 worthless boat ladder and no customer support. I am certain I’ve had a worse experience with an Amazon vendor - ever. With ZERO support from Amazon. Also it is not light weight and it is not steady on the ladder.

Support cables broke the first time my dog tried to get out of the water. The whole thing wobbles so bad that it wouldn’t last anyways. Don’t buy this thing.
