I’ve enjoyed making old fashioneds at home but I wanted to mix it up a bit. Using this cocktail smoker was super easy and adds a little “extra” character with the slight essence of smoke. The included chips are rich and smoky and I’m looking forward to trying different wood breeds to experiment with flavor varieties. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to mix it up. Make sure you have a butane torch style lighter.

First time using anything like this and it was super easy. I used a torcher (similar to the ones used for crème brûlée) and it worked like a charm. The glass tasted smoky far after removing the smoker!

I received this item free as an Amazon Vine reviewer and this is my honest review. I only request items I will actually use, and use I do, prior to writing a review.I enjoy a good old fashioned when I go out but sometimes, I just want one at home. So, I thought I’d try this smoker. My first impression it is this smoker is very basic. The quality is OK, but the wood body of the smoker is a rougher finish (not sanded) and with no sealer or coating on it. It just feels, well, unfinished (pictured). The screen “cup” the wood smoking chips goes in is decent and it does come with a cleaning brush to help clean out the holes in the screen (pictured).What I liked about this smoker, when I saw the description, is that it has storage in the base for wood chips (a small bag is even provided). Once I received this smoker, what I really don’t like about it is the wood chip storage in the base. The smoker "top" loosely, very loosely, sits on top of the base/wood storage. Pick it up wrong and you have wood chips flying everywhere. It just feels like a bit more design work and finishing could have gone into this unit. It needs a tighter seal.Does it work? Yes, it sits on top of a rocks glass and lets you smoke a fine cocktail. So, for use as purely a smoker, and not a wood chip storage unit, it works well.As I do at the end of all my reviews, I ask myself if I would actually purchase this item. I would probably look around at other/better smoker designs, in my personal opinion. But it does function as a smoker.

This is a fun little gadget to have in your bar, and makes a great gift or addition to a home bar that's off the beaten path. It does take a little bit of practice to get it to smoke well, but once you master the technique it's very simple. I'd suggest making an old fashion with a nice, aged rum instead of bourbon. The sweetness of the rum and the smoke is a great way to sample what this smoking kit can do. Recommended!

My husband loves getting fancy different cocktails at restaurants and bars and now he can make them for us at home. When it arrived he was so excited to try it but we shortly discovered you need a small torch to light the smoke, which is stated in the instructions so once we got the right lighter for this it works fantastic! Only takes a few minutes over each drink and voila you have a fancy cocktail at home.
