Five pineapples đđđđđ You will want to devour this book!
Awake has a message of hope for the worldâand itâs wrapped in a fantastic sci-fi story. The book alternates between Mobius, on the world of Akara, to Diego, in the rainforests of Central America. The settings are instantly immersive and captivating, and the rapid-fire pace makes it impossible not to turn the page. The people of Akara have evolved after a Ravaging Era that brought them to the brink of extinction. They view Earth as a precious jewel that must be saved. What a perfect metaphor for the essence of this book. The authors have woven together a terrific science fiction novel complete with humor and a vision of the society we might becomeâspiritual, wise, and with a moral compass entwined in our everyday lives.I loved the high-tech toys and abilities. Thought holograms, FTL travel via the torus, energy projection, and the ability to subsist on ambient energy. Itâs obvious the authors researched the science behind all of it (the acknowledgements at the end are worth reading).I give this book my highest recommendation, for its universal themes of loyalty, faith, bravery, and romance. And its timely message for us all to âAwake.âAs they say on Akara, âMake the Leap.â Buy this book.

Cheap shot at "spirituality" and a disservice to the genre!
Having just finished this book, I had to take a moment to let the painful disappointment dissipate before writing this review! I saw one of the authors on Jeff Mara's podcast and enthusiastically rushed to order the book on Amazon right away! I was excited and hopeful to read what I had hoped would be (and was presented as) an "enlightened" story called "Awake" meant to expand my knowledge about alien species and their involvement with - and dedication to - humanity, from the distant past to the present. On a positive note: major kudos to the authors for successfully delivering a well written, albeit amateurish, Da Vinci Code meets Ready Player One meets....any mediocre thriller/page turner, salad of a suspenseful novel. If anyone reading this needs a page turner summer vacation flick, please feel free to indulge this book. It's a remarkably talented first novel!Personally, having expected so much more following the author's purported encounter with aliens, I feel hurt and duped, on my behalf and theirs, by this book's narrative. Especially when alluded to as a narrative style meant to be memorable while I wish nothing more than to forget it! The idea was that we, humans best retain knowledge through story-telling and that's why the story is channeled and presented as such . Sure! But this story is far too demeaning to the aliens whose cause it claims to advance and to any humans whose level of knowledge and intelligence surpasses a kindergartner's gullibility. My advice to the author(s) is to please consider continuing to write because there's undeniable talent there for an action flick! I see your efforts in writing this book as a veiled attempt at getting a movie deal. And if it does get made, it'll no doubt be a crowd pleaser! So if your intent is to become successful as a screenplay writer for dime a dozen Hollywood productions, by all means, please continue to write! You've got the style and the talent to appeal to the unintelligent masses who consume this kind of prose!Awake doesn't know or indicate what its scope is, exactly.(Except for its ambitions of becoming a B movie, I guess.) It is a mixed salad, a mishmash of cliches, from cheap romantic thrills to, of course, alien humor and idiocy. (See hairy male genitalia for reference)What it is NOT, by any stretch of the imagination, is anything less than a disappointing, at times exasperating, waste of time! I am so frustrated by the low common denominator to which the authors have stooped! Having finished the book, I am irredeemably confused about WHAT may have been its intent?- To ingratiate aliens to humans?- To convince us that they're friendly and mean well?I truly have NO idea!I was ever so hopeful after seeing the author on Jeff Mara! And now I'm sitting here wondering HOW could someone who has had an encounter with these beautiful beings cheapen the subject so much? How could it pretend to further the cause and spread awareness and on the subject when it does anything but?!In retrospect, the premise presented on the podcast insults the intelligence of any discerning reader when faced with the resulting story!I know it's fiction! I know it was an "embellished" story meant to be easily digested by those (like myself!) credulous enough to rush and order this book! BUT, I refuse to believe that this wannabe low-grade screenplay represents the antics of an evolved species or that it stands any chance to uplift or improve the atrocious image created by Hollywood and the media for other galactic species. At the end, it felt like chewing someone else's used bubblegum. Unimaginative! Cliched beyond redemption. Insulting of any discerning intelligence! If anyone wants to advance their knowledge and understanding in the spiritual realm, PLEASE read Todd R. Deviney's book: "Expansion for Ascending Consciousness: Understanding the Universe, Consciousness, and Ascension." This is a little known book that's truly phenomenal! It contains ALL the answers to the big questions a curious mind looking for true awakeningmight have!In closing, I'm saddened to see that the alien encounter shared/experienced by the author resulted in this! How could such a beautiful experience lead to a petty human story whose focus (80-90% of it) is on a stereotypical narrative about the kidnapping of a billionaire heiress, laden with all the eye-rolling cliches associated with such a subject? And how could this type of storytelling help further humanity's awareness when the reason given was that "aliens believe we retain stories" better than ...what? facts?!We humans DO retain stories. But they have to be good to be memorable! What does it say about the average level of intelligence of the reader if the attempt to "educate" about our cosmic counterparts is made through this poor excuse for a story?I am left with the undeniable belief that this was nothing but a veiled publicity stunt (sharing the experience on Jeff Mara's podcast) and ultimately a disservice to the beautiful beings whose encounter supposedly led to sharing this "story." Furthermore, and above all, the story is a grave disservice to them!I urge the authors to continue to write. There's talent there for suspenseful cheap thrills and I'm sure some Hollywood guy with money to spend will eventually come calling! But steer clear of presenting your narratives as fodder for AWAKEning because those of us who were duped by this claim end up writing reviews like the one above!

The science fiction lover in me just crawled inside this well written adventure
The science fiction lover in me just crawled inside this well written adventure, but more importantly, the spiritual me was delightfully filled with the high vibrational pull into Akara, a suffered world that made conscious changes and found its Peace through Universal Wisdom. âAWAKEâ offers hope that we on Earth can do the same. Though a fictional novel, the back story of its birth is fascinating, and it is comforting to know that the loving character Kaia is out there, and can be found in our own hearts and stilled minds.Claudia Watts Edge award winning author ofâGIFTS FROM THE EDGEââLESSONS FROM THE EDGEâ andâWE TOUCHED HEAVENâ

A fast-paced read with good vibes
If you're looking for a fun and fast-paced read, you are in luck. What makes AWAKE worth your time, though, is that it is not just a fun story. The authors have gone to the trouble to be conscious of their assumptions and worldview, which means that if you are tired of negativity and old stereotypes, this book will be a refreshing change.Dayna Dunbar and Julia Padawer have set the bar high for other spiritual fiction/uplifting fiction writers. No one should be able to get away with a boring storyline in the name of positivity again. AWAKE is proof positive that a heart-centered story can not only have suspense, conflict, engaging characters, and desperate circumstances, but is also all the better for being a riveting tale.
