Q: What are the dimensions of the petcock itself? How wide is it from tip to tip? How wide is the center section?

The overall length tip of tube to tip of tube is 2 inches. The handle is 1/4 inch longer then the tube making the actual overall length in open position 2 & 1/4 inches. The cube the handle fits in is 1/2"x1/2"x1/2". Total width of cube and handle is 1 inch. Total space occupied by unit is 2&1/4"x1"x1/2"

Q: Is this compatible with diesel?

I can't see why not if that's the size of your line

Q: does it come with 2 clamps

it does not come with clamps. with that being said most atv/small engines doesn't require clamps because of the low pressure or gravity flow.
