SHIMANOCS-HG50 8-Speed Cassette

My road bike came with a 11-28 cassette fitted as standard (Shimano). This has been my first upgrade and I anticipated a straight swap for this 11-32 cassette as they should, and probably are, the same width. After a huge amount of effort to remove the locking ring, off came the 11-28 and on went the 11-32. However, there was a huge amount of lateral 'slide' on the hub behind the fixed 11T - the locking ring simply wasn't closing the 11T tight against the rest of the cassette. Enter a standard Shimano 1mm spacer, placed inboard of the cassette, tighten and now I have one solid cassette.As to the improvement in my ability to climb hills - a quantum leap so if you are presented with appreciable climbs in your part of the world, get that 32T cog.

Replaced the "standard" Shimano 13-26 cassette originally fitted to my Specialized Allez 24 - the 11-28 now provides (for me) preferred slower pedal cadence on faster sections together with a real crawler gear for the steeper inclines!

This is meant to be an 8 speed cassette, I either received a 7 speed or there were pieces missing from it, there was no lock for a start. Unfortunately I had thrown the box out before realising so can’t return. Buyers beware

Got these to replace an existing one which was of less quality that a shimano-I put one on my other cycle last spring have done about 800 miles on it no problems, smooth transmission easy to fit

Arrived on time, genuine Shimano cassette that has been installed onto my turbo trainer without any issues.
