Good spinner
Let me start out by saying that I owned a salad spinner decades ago. Its handle broke shortly after I got it. I'm assuming that today's plastics are more durable than they were years ago. It's clear that the handle design of this spinner is better than the other spinner.I originally gave this spinner three stars, and then decided to raise it to four. In the beginning, I had trouble getting the top on and off, but I have since learned the knack. (You have to lift the top next to the handle to keep it from grabbing.) Also, it seemed to me that the spinner didn't hold a lot of water, but that hasn't proved to be a problem. (If you are spinning more than one batch of lettuce, you should pour the water out between spins.) For the relatively low price, this is a good product.I'm very pleased to have this spinner. It is so much easier than manually shaking each piece of lettuce over the sink.Let me say a little about cleaning vegetables. I read recently that it is more effective to hold vegetables under streaming water than to dunk them in water. But if you hold them under streaming water, you may miss some parts of the lettuce, and you'll waste a lot of water. So what I do is this: First, I found a large bowl that I didn't need for anything else. I fill the bowl, and then I submerge the lettuce and shake it to dislodge all the dirt. That seems to get the lettuce very clean.Cleaning vegetables is very important. Sometimes I'm amazed by how much brown silt accumulates at the bottom of the bowl. Of course, it's not possible to see how much pesticide comes off, but pesticide is more dangerous than silt, since it can cause neurological problems (people who live in rural areas get more Parkinson's disease, and that disease is a misery). When I was young, I'd often eat romaine lettuce without cleaning it. Now, I'm horrified that I ever did such a thing.

It works
It does what it should. I decided after using it for a time, that I would eventually like a button pumped spinner. I can only get this one to go so fast, and it takes a bit of muscles before I get enough water off to be satisfied. This does work though. Also... It's MUCH cheaper if you just go get it from I K E A.

2nd Purchase
I bought one of these about 11 years ago and needed to replace it after too much wear and tear. Glad to buy another as it is perfect for making salad for 1 or 2 people. It is smaller than most other salad spinners and that helps with storing it.

Does its job
I've been using this salad spinner for about a year now. It shows no major signs of wear-and-tear, although it's only been hand-washed. I usually end up spinning it vigorously enough to need to hold the spinner in place since the construction is pretty light-weight. Lettuce usually needs to be run through at least twice to get the water off, but that seems to be normal for these types of salad spinners. A couple of good spins and a wipe down of the clear plastic outer bowl keeps my leafy greens crispy for the 4-5 days it might take to eat them.I especially like that the handle is basically "zero footprint" and doesn't extend beyond the bowl. This helps it take up as little fridge space as possible, and means one less part to accidentally break. My only complaint is I've noticed on a few occasions that a very small amount of mold can grow in the very narrow slats of the strainer section. Since these divisions are so narrow, it's next to impossible to get a sponge/rag/etc. in between to do a good thorough "scrub" but I can usually remove it with a soak in warm soapy water and some good scrubbing.

Only received 1 in my "2 pack".
Supposed to be a 2 pack but I only received 1. Product itself does its job.

Ikea Tokig Salad and Handwash Spinner
You might not know this...I bought this Ikea Tokig salad spinner to spin dry short hair wigs in. And it works beautifully. Have to tuck the hairs in the wig cap, yet the spinning gets quite a bit of the water out so there is no dripping when the wig is removed. I put one short hair wig in one way, spun it, and removed the lid and dumped the captured water, and then replaced the wig in a different way, and spun again. The second time has less resistance. Then I take the wig out of the basket, and it is damp but not dripping, and ready to fluff. Dumped the water, took apart the spinner and basket and lid so they can dry.I will use it for my Buffs and scarves, too. No twisting or rolling up in towels, which also have to be dried. I should have bought the deal with 2 for price of 1 and a half, but I wasn't sure it would work. It does, and I'd buy the deal for two because, well, one would be great for salad, too!

This product may be defective
When I turned the handle on this spinner, white plastic shavings started to appear. I provided a photo of the plastic dust in this description. I would advise you not to purchase this product because the plastic shavings (or "dust") may be harmful if ingested. I had to return this product.

Basic salad spinner, decent price and sturdier than other cheapies.
This was the best deal I could find on Amazon for a salad spinner and I was desperate for one. It is quite well made and the basket is sturdy. The only thing I wish it had was a spin-stop button like the old Oxo one I used to have. Also, the lid is not easy to remove, especially if your hands are slippery at all. It needs a little lip on it to use as a lever.

Good buy
I liked it. It works as it claims.. it makes the green leaf dry. I do it generally during night. I do some fast rotation and you can see the water coming out. I throw the water and keep the leaf overnight in that. Morning you can see the water dries how ever a little droplets was there I just keep it open for a 2 min and you get completely dried leaf. It’s worth to do that way so my green veggies stay little longer then expected, as it’s moisture free.
