I was so excited to get my hands on this cook book...i was 18 years old when i moved away from Serbia and i have to tell you that i really really missed the food above all else.I've traveled all over the world and have to say that no food brought me the memories of love and joy that i experienced while having a meal with my family and friends like Serbian cuisine didNow that i have this book i can i introduce my children to some real authentic Serbian yummy foods...my kids want me to start with the desserts...figures!!! ..I can not wait to try making the ajvar, kiflice and burek...brings back such pleasant memories.Thank you Miroslav for this wonderful book, that's packed with carefree and happy days for me...hvala punoI received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved the photographs in the book. Whoever took them clearly has an artistic view that I appreciated. Something as simple as a picture of cows and a bowl of herbs done so beautifully is wonderful to behold. I quite enjoyed the author's clear love for the food as he describes the flavors and aromas of different ingredients and finished dishes. The instructions that come along with the recipes are very considerate, like to poke holes in the vegetables before cooking them so they cook evenly. Basic recipes…. My main reason for only 2 stars is that it’s in black and white. Looks like it was printed in a house and not a professional cookbook.
