Park is Mine, The (1986)

80s classic with all star actor Tommy Lee Jones. A man becomes sick and tired of those who cannot speak for themselves and the injustices of certain people. Well his voice and concerns are going to be heard one way or the other when he takes over Central Park New York armed to the teeth with his trusty AK-47 and other serious hardware. His objective is not to cause harm to people, only to be a voice to those that have fallen through the cracks of the bureaucratic system of pure nonsense. A lot of firepower on display, including machine guns, grenade launchers, rpg's, light machine guns etc. A lot of action and a great original story. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Awesome 80s shoot em up classic. Highly recommend.

The movie itself is well done with Tommy Lee Jones turning in his usual performance-with the usual action-you either like him or not. It has only been released on VHS to this point--HOWEVER, the Amazon HD streaming version is a 5 because of quality and WIDESCREEN.

Ok, it is an unrealistic Ramboesc type of movie. But it is a movie from the '80s, and I have not seen this since I was a teenager in high school. I liked it then, and I liked it now. It is just a good action movie that is entertaining. And just about any film with Tommy Lee Jone is excellent.

Hard to believe, still remarkably strong in its message, 'The Park Is Mine' was actually filmed in Canada almost forty years ago. The movie plays well, its video and audio sharp and clear. Except for some questionable action delivered by a couple of minor characters, overall, the writing and action is very good.

I absolutley love this movie and I have been waiting for no less then 15 years for this movie to come out of moritorium, and finally it did, at least for download rental, but the fact that it is available is a plus, dvd disc is just around the corner, next. The movie is quick and has few known cast memebers, however the plot is cool and the message is good, the acting well, this was initially a HBO special in the late 80's so it is fair, I would definitley recommend this movie if you like guns, bullets and a short but to the point plot about veterans, don't expect Oscar acting, but it is enjoyable never the less.

Was probably good in the 80s, loses a lot over the years. First Blood holds up, this flick does not. Always good to see Tommy Lee though. Without him, this would be a time waster.

This is not a high dollar movie, but it was pretty good. Still plays the veteran gets weird after the Vietnam War, but it does tell his side of the story some. Does not paint the picture that it was all the wars fault or the Vet's fault, but that Government will overstep its bounds sometimes, and also that when a man/s family abandons him, then things happen. I liked it more for the plan, weaponry, and shows the true nature of some politicians.

Did this come out after "First Blood"? Very similar theme but still good. I'm a "Nam" vet, 69-70, and kind of enjoy these revenge type flicks.

Tommy Lee Jones put all the movies in the top brackets. This show is an oldie but for the time of it's release was classed great, a story that needed to be heard by and this movie lets it be known. A story of a man willing to let his thoughts be taken with no bars hold to stand up and make his country take notice. To do this he makes Central Park a trap for all until they hear him loud and clear. I rated this an A grade plus, the cast are fabulous and storyline marvelous what more do you want, fantastic and moving movie that all should see. Full on action that has been made into a war zone by one man ready to see it through to the end. Time for feet up with munchies in hand relaxing for a ride of your life in the comfort of your own home, This is only my opinion but this movie just wont let you go. Enjoy!

this is an excellent early outing for tommy lee jones and thanks to a multi region dvd player also bought on amazon I can watch it properly for the first time since the 80s. It needs to be released in region 2 so more people can enjoy what is a good film

Tommy lee jones stars in this funny, Thought provoking film about why society treats those you have served there country badly.Tommy lee jones plays an ex-soldier who returned from vietnam to find no future or respect for the sacrifices he has made, after a war buddy kills himself he decides to take over central park to make a statement just before veterens day in New York. The film is well made, fun to watch, and also costars Helen shaver as a reporter.
