Safariland Safariland 578 7TS GLS Pro-Fit, Standard Frame

Excellent holster at a great price. Arguably the best in this price range and US made. It's modular and compatible with all Safariland mount offerings. It does come with a belt loop and paddle adapter so you'll be ready to go right out of the box. However I ditched these in favor of my mid-ride UBL and QLS (highly recommend this combo).The active retention is solid and draw is natural with minimal practice. Unlike other low-cost holsters that can be dangerous to use (rhymes with Derpa), the GLS retention lever is actuated by your middle finger during your draw. Pretty ingenious.Plus it's ridiculously versatile. I successfully tested a CZ SP-01 Tactical, CZ-75 Omega, CZ P-10C, Polymer 80 P940V2, Sar K2, and Tristar S-120. The CZs and P80 all have threaded barrels and suppressor height sights.Tension adjustment is required for each pistol which is easily done with a set screw on the aft end of the holster. Safariland includes a nifty hex key with T-handle adapter for this purpose. Also the included shim is necessary for the holster's retention to work correctly with handguns that have thinner trigger guards. Installation is simple and covered in the included manual.Overall I'm extremely impressed with the GLS 578. It's an amazing value for the money. I'll be purchasing a few more so I can permanently set them for certain pistol types.

Absolutely my favorite duty holster for my M&P 2.0 full size 9mm threaded barrel and high sights (co-witness) optics. Fits perfectly! So snug and secure. I run the Crimson Trace LG660 laser which goes on the back strap so it has no interference.The release break is so so damn good! A natural high grip releases this bad boy like butter.It was so smooth I was nervous about its ability to retain from someone going for it.So I had a couple of people test it and go for my gun (unloaded) and they couldn’t figure it out. I even showed 1 the location of the release switch and he still couldn’t get it out from me. It’s so perfectly designed for the user.I compared this to the Blackhawk T-Series L2C Overt… and oh boy is that system straight up hot garbage compared to this!I’ll say this, the Blackhawk looks sexy and tacti-cool, especially on a pseudo snakebite 2-toned gun, but that holster is a huge disappointment compared to this Safariland Pro-Fit!This holster is light, tough, functions so smooth, & quickest and easiest draw ever! It has a tension screw to adjust the retention rate, but it came stock perfect.I run it on a leg drop system and it’s great.LEO/Operator approved.

I spent a lot of time looking for a good paddle holster for my Five-seveN MkII. There weren't a lot of options that had a retention system. I tried a Blackhawk Serpa but the release system made me overly cautious about accidentally hitting the trigger on the draw and I just didn't like it, so I returned it. I then did some more research and found that this holster could be adjusted easily to fit the Five-seveN MkII. I use a Safariland holster for my other gun, so I decided to give it a shot.Adjusting it to fit was really simple. I just installed the shim to make it fit my gun and adjusted the tension until the gun didn't shake around and it worked like a charm. After a few test draws, I found the retention simple to be very natural and quick but also difficult for someone else to release (especially if they're not aware of the release).Overall, it is a very nice holster. The adjustable fit is fantastic if you have difficulty finding a quality holster for your gun. I use it for concealed carry when I wear a jacket or large shirt.

Bought this primarily due to impatience waiting for the specific fitted GLS for my full-size M&P9. I think the GLS design is wonderful and is a big improvement over the ALS thumb release. The holster was adjustable for the M&P and worked well for concealed carry, even while running. Once I received my fitted version I switched this one to work with my Springfield 1911. This required the trigger guard shim swap and specific adjustment via the hex bolt. The result is a very good fit for the 1911.While the holster worked very well for both pistols, the amount of work to swap out the shim was significant and could not be done in the field. The scabbard itself is much thinner than the fitted version due to the need to disassemble it. This results in a holster with thinner sides and no lining. Yes, it's slightly lighter but for me durability is more important.Bottom line: for the best GLS, get a fitted unit. If you want a good (not excellent) holster that could be converted for other pistols, this is a great choice. Both are better than the ALS.

If you own a firearm that dosn't fit any of the Safariland ALS holsters (such as CZ-75 variants), this is your holster. Otherwise buy an ALS holster.I've owned Safariland ALS retention holsters for every full sized handgun I've carried, and find them to be the absolute best retention holsters on the market. When I started carrying a CZ-75B I found to my dismay that Safariland does not make an ALS holster for the CZ-75 family. That is what prompted me to try this GLS holster, and I must say it's 95% as good and is pretty much universal. Build quality is good, but unlike the Kydex like material of the ALS holsters this one is made from injection molded plastic. It feels high quality and I expect it to hold up well, but I ultimately prefer the Kydex material of the ALS holsters. This holster also does not have the felt lining on the ALS holsters so It may be harder on the finish of your firearm.As for the retention system, the Grip Lock System works incredibly well and feels very natural to use when drawing the firearm while still giving you the protection of a locking retention mechanism. I still prefer the thumb actuated ALS retention mechanism, but this one is universal and that one is not.Overall I'd say this is the best retention holster you can get for less common firearms that Safariland doesn't make an ALS holster for.

This holster was mentioned in an online review of the CZ SP-01 Phantom handgun as being very good. So, I ordered one. It's the best holster for the CZ Phantom (or any CZ) that I've ever found. I particularly like the GLS (Grip Lock System). It's the best release mechanism I've ever used, bar none. As the name suggests, the positive retention disengages when the pistol handle is gripped - no fumbling, or even an additional separate motion - it just works. The draw is smooth and re-holstering is easy. Both a paddle and a belt loop attachment are included. A 1-1/2" belt fits nicely. I can only give it 5 stars - compared to others I've tried it deserves 10. I'd like to get a holster with the GLS release and adjustable tension for all my handguns. Unfortunately, in Canada getting this brand is "hit and miss." If you have a full-size CZ with a wide front lower and want a holster with adjustable tension and a superb positive lock and release, this one is worth your time. There are a lot of Kydex holsters for CZ that cost more and are more cumbersome and less intuitive. Give it a try for your Phantom, whether its for the range or EDC. It's really comfortable and a great fit. I'm super impressed.

Once you find your set up, waist, low waist, leg and you screw every thing together, works like a piece or art. was a little hard to custom but maybe thats just me going the extra step.

Nice holster, seems pretty sturdy. The issue is that many firearms require a “shim” to be installed in the holster to compensate for a thinner trigger guard. The shim, along with the tool required to adjust tension in the holster, were missing from the package.
