This feeder is well built, seems sturdy. We had to use washers (not included) to create a gap between the feeder and the wall of our coop, to allow placement and removal of the cover. The screws provided did not appear to be long enough to secure such a heavy unit, but ended up working out fine. We have purchased multiple Rent-A-Coop products and have been pleased with the quality of the products.

Easy to install. Chickens learned to use it easily. There is much less waste with this feeder than others I have purchased and used through the years. We have used several other products by this company through the years and have been pleased with each one.

Design needs to be tweaked a little. First, it should be wider to allow more chickens to feed at once. The way it is, only three or four at the most can eat at once. Second, it should hold around 55 lbs, not 50. This would allow you to fill up with an entire bag of feed without waiting until the feeder is entirely empty. Thirdly, the screw slots on the back should be an inch or two lower. The slots require mounting at the extreme top edge of an attachment board so that the lid, which overlaps the box, will fit properly. The lid fits fine, and is mostly water resistant, but flush mounting is not an option, and I get it, but designers need to recognize the requirements for mounting and the position of the slots.It is build pretty well, but it should be for the price. Overall, I am pleased with the feeder.

Super great! I’m hoping my chickens get the hang of it but no leaking or anything in it! It’s perfect for my flock and I’m super excited to order more!

It is a great product, my only complaint is the sharp metal lip that nearly sliced off my chicken’s comb. She now has a traumatic injury that we are having to treat her for. Other than that, the feeder is great. PLEASE cover the metal lip with duct tape.

It works well and keeps the food dry but, the chickens pull a lot of food out onto the ground.

I was having a mice issue and was able to get rid of them using these feeders along with other strategies I put in place. These feeders make it hard/impossible for the chickens to “dump/scratch” out the feed onto the ground, which attracts pests. I also put the feeders into a metal container at night so they aren’t accessible to pests when they are more likely active. The money I’m saving in wasted feed is a big win as well.

The feeder is good quality. 50 lbs capacity is great that you do not need to refill it too often. It works for both chickens and ducks. Just wish there was another piece of metal attached to the back of the feeder for hanging instead of having 3 hanging holes that may let water in when it is used outdoors. For now, I just used the stickers provided to seal the holes. Overall, I am very happy with the feeder.
