Keep the old truck in my experience it's cheap for them then paying return shipping and having to dispose of. Free spare parts. As a company they are ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s for sure

I read on a review that this product was dangerous, could you please tell me how safe this product is?

I’m pretty sure I found the review your talking about. It sounds like it’s referring to the batteries and charger. This comes with lithium-polymer (lipo) batteries, as do the majority of rc’s these days. Any lipo can potentially be dangerous if not handled, charged and maintained properly. If your nervous do your homework on lipos before buying. Or opt for a rc that comes with LITHIUM-ION batteries. They are a safer more stable alternative to lipos. 
I personally have about 30+ lipos, all different sizes. I never use the cheap chargers these rcs come with. I keep them in my garage in lipo safe storage bags. I always balance and storage charge. I check temps when running my rcs, and check IR (internal resistance) before/after each run. I have never had a problem with 1 of my lipos. Oh, And I NEVER let my kids mess around with them. I have litium-ions just for my kids to use.

Just do some research on lipo batteries. I feel everyone who buys these toys should acquire some of the basic dos and don'ts. I think the majority of problems occur when lipos aren’t used properly.

Keep in mind, we all pretty much walk around with lipos every day. Almost every device we have these days uses them. Phones, computers, tablets, ect

As for the car itself, definitely not dangerous. I mean if you drive it straight into a persons ankle or something it will leave a bruise. But the thing is tiny and really not that fast.
