Not solid oak
5 tier book shelf - This is not solid oak, poorly made, not easy to put together , holes don't line up, need to be really careful screwing it together so the cheap wood does not split. Screws visible where the two units join . Overall disappointed to say the least.

Not as advertised, questionable quality
Advert says solid oak. In reality, much of this unit is laminated mdf or other board. The only solid bits are the top, the front uprights and the edges of the shelves. The pictures in the advert appear to show a solid bookcase with the sides made of a single panel. When this bookcase arrives, you quickly realise that there is a top half and a bottom half which gets bolted together to achieve the height.Instructions are poor, some of the threaded holes don't line up properly and there are nearly 60 screws to put into the back panel to made it rigid. This is a long way from the promise in the pictures. Reasonably sturdy once assembled and fixed to the wall but not a high quality item

Looks better that the Amazon picture
It’s actually very nice and not too deep, which is what I wanted for a passageway. The instructions aren’t exactly IKEA, but you can follow them well enough.

NOT FOR ME
This product was not the same colour as advertised. The one shown is a light oak - the one I received was brown, almost dark brown in places and the stain was patchy. The quality was - in my opinion - poor. I only removed two shelves and and one end panel from the package and where edges were meant to be square they were rounded. Surfaces that were meant to be flat were not. Put a square on the flat surfaces and there are gaps underneath. The wood had been poorly machined so that the grain didn't remain flat and even; and gave a curve look which was very noticeable in the sunlight. Also not a quality smooth surface and on one panel an indent.I then went on to read the reviews and noted one with photos saying the problems of putting it together, so another negative. I chose to return. Was it oak - I have no idea actually but definitely veneer in parts.Perhaps I have been too critical but not up to my standard in any way.PLUS SIDE - although it took 24 hours to get responses to each of my requests to return which meant it was slow. However it was dealt with really well and was taken from my house by Parcel Force, so no hassle. The company offered a small reduction if I kept it but it would have offended my eye when I looked at it. Sorry. What does "sheerness" mean in the review section?

Good bit and bad bits
OK, so on the positive side, this is a solid, attractive piece of furniture. It’s also quite small, which, if this size is what you need (as I did), it’s ideal - small bookcases are not always easy to come by.On the negative side, delivery was a complete nightmare. This item is available a little cheaper from other sellers, but I ordered from this seller (VidaXL), because delivery was quicker. Except it wasn’t. Several expected delivery dates came and went, and although I quickly received ‘sorry’ replies each time I got in touch, there wasn’t any real explanation given. The item just turned up unexpectedly one day, about 3 weeks late. Also on the negative side, one of the panels was split, and didn’t fit snugly where it was supposed to go - see photos as delivered, and assembled. I was still able to assemble it (carefully), which did cause the split to extend, but the damage isn’t too noticeable.I was also missing the brackets that hold the shelves in place, so I had to use some metal pegs I had from elsewhere. The back panel was a bit fiddly to fit as it’s fractionally too large for where it needs to go, but I managed to attach it and it looks OK.Another reviewer does mention that the fixings supplied didn’t fit and they had to use their own. While the fixings I received were usable, they weren’t great, and I did have to do a bit of wiggling to get everything screwed in to the holes they were designed to go in. But, that's flatpack generally for you, and if I'd wanted something perfect or pre-assembled, I'd have expected to pay a lot more than I did.I didn’t contact the seller about any of these problems as I really couldn’t face the hassle of getting it collected and a replacement delivered. I had a bookcase, and where it is in my home makes the split barely noticeable. Sometimes complaining further just ain’t worth the hassle. However, the seller contacted me shortly after delivery and offered me a full refund because of the inconvenience with delivery, and this was before I mentioned the damage/assembly problems/missing bits. So, despite the delivery issues and damage, I had good customer service (up to this point), and have a nice piece of furniture (albeit with a small split), for free. And that would’ve been the end of that, but... I did leave a negative seller review the day before the item turned up. During the subsequent phone call I was asked to remove that review - I said I would after I received the refund. A couple of days later I received an email again asking me to remove it (before refund received). And a couple of days later, a text asking again (still before refund received). And then a phone call and another text a couple of days after that (still no refund). Refund received today, so seller review removed today, as I said I would. This was going to be a 4* review (It is a nice piece of furniture, and the seller did seem concerned about the issues I had and wanted to put things right), but I’ve downgraded it to 2* due to being harassed to remove my honest, negative seller review. In light of the repeated non-delivery I wanted to make sure I did actually get the promised refund in my bank account before I deleted the seller review.I do hope the seller doesn't now ask me to remove this one; it’s an honest review, as they’re supposed to be. And quite frankly, if they hadn’t kept hassling me to remove the seller review, I’d have stopped at ‘good customer service’ and ‘nice piece of furniture’.

As advertised very good purchase
Well-made and priced

Overpriced
Assembly was overly complicated for its construction. Wood was not the quality I expected for the price. Save your money.

Perfect for DVD Collection
I bought this for my DVD Collection. Amazingly it holds 294 DVD's; each of the 6 shelves hold 49 DVD's. You could even hold a lot more if you put some horizontally on top of each shelf. It doesn't stick out very far from the wall, so it doesn't take up much room at all. Very sturdy and solid. Perfect for my needs and space, and it looks great!
