How does it work with 20Ga half-hard ssilver filled wire

Do you need to shake it before use? If you're not supposed to shake it (I have been), has it ruined the whole batch?

does it come in different colors?

I got some of this stuff, but I can't open the lid! Please help-- is it just too hardened and stuck? I can't tell what's inside.
