The Murmurings

Perfect for Young Adults!
As a middle school language arts teacher for twelve years, I confirm that The Murmurings is a fabulous novel, and totally appropriate and entertaining for young adults. The characters are well developed, and the plot line is full of suspense. The foreshadowing kept me wanting to read more without spoiling the story or becoming predictable, and I enjoyed being surprised by the turn of events. The ending was exceptional; all of the loose ends were neatly tied up, and I was content and gratified. The love story is light and delicate. It does not overshadow the plot, and it adds a suitable level of romance for teen readers. The author also does an excellent job developing the setting. The story takes place in AZ, and the descriptions of the climate and topography make it authentic and accessible for readers all over the country. It is easy to get lost in the novel, and although it is 370 pages, it is a fast read. The only problem is you may stay awake too late in the night trying to finish it - and then be too scared to go to the bathroom and look in the mirror! Enjoy!!

Great suspenseful read
I will first admit not to being a tween and biased in my opinion of this book, but it was still a good read and I would recommend it to others who are into the genre

I liked the last book by her, so hoping this will prove to be just as good.

Spooky
This book really gave me the shivers. West does a splendid job building a scene to visualize. I will definitely read more by this author.
