Worn out trunk lids lifts are dangerous and can be replaced easily by DIY
This product was easy to look up by automobile make, model and year on the Amazon web site. The Amazon APP checked for compatibility with my vehicle.The replacement lifts were accompanied by explicit but understandable instructions which made the job of installing them easy.It took only 5 minutes. Finding a place to deposit the worn out units took much longer.Next time I’ll send them off to the automobile manufacturer COD.

Quite powerful, easy install
The old ones are removed just by poking a flathead screwdriver under a clip to press it up, then just pop the strut off of its little ball joint on your car. The new ones pop on even easier as you don't have to faff about with the clip. As far as I can tell, this is the industry standard for trunk struts and practically all cars have this type. Just beware; it takes quite a lot of force and you may jam your finger like I did if you're not careful! Also, these are pretty strong and my '04 Focus LX sedan's trunk now opens really fast if I don't hold onto it to prevent it making a slam, and it takes a ton of force to make it close again. I'm sure it'll become easier over time. Love these as now I can actually open my trunk!

Purchased it in July 2018 no problems so far!
At some point our Ford Focus 2004 car’s trunk lid would no longer pop high enough to clear the lock and would require a remote control to open. This set arrived as described, was easy to install and instantly solved our trunk issue! Actually, it is still a bit springy and requires some effort to close but that should wear off, hopefully not too quickly, as the time passes by.

Perfect item
Bought a cheaper one on Amazon and returned them and bought these. Perfect fit and installed these in less than one minute. No need to remove retainer clip, snap right on and perfect fit, unlike the cheaper one.Recommend this product for the Focus. Thank you

Deceiving picture, part number and fit by Amazon
I’m almost literally going to copy and paste the review made by Doug Hua. Before I purchased this item, sell by Maxpow I had done a lot of homework to see if it fits my 2006 Ford Focus ZX5 SES hatchback and Amazon Garage gives the answer "Yes". Even the photo show the same item my car have. They have the same part number. Shipping was fast and the product looks good and high quality, but, it’s not the same, it’s too short and I cannot fit it into the strut bolt on the trunk lid! What a joke!!!. I CAN’T use it. I can’t return it because I live in the Caribbean and it’s too expensive for me to return it.
