More than just a garden stake!
So I was skeptical at first. I purchased these garden stakes after seeing the INSANE cost of dig defence for dogs. Would these 100 garden stakes work for my purposes? YOU BET THEY DID! I was able to block all areas of my fence to keep my beautiful beagle from breaking free while singing "Born to Run" throughout my neighborhood. The only down side of these is now all my neighbors nor the nearby daycare get daily visits from my beautiful free-spirited doggy. I would 100% recommend these to keep your lovely running dogs inside your fence, and I'm betting they work wonderfully as garden stakes as well.

Works as deterrent for animals digging under stockade fence.
I have had a stockade fence on two sides of my backyard with no animal digging since I have lived here. My neighbor had a rusted chain link fence on the remaining side with huge gaps at the bottom. With her permission, I had her fence removed and a stockade fence installed. Now there is evidence of digging under my fence to and from her yard. These spikes seem to have resolved the problem. However, it did take some effort. The ground is so hard in my yard that I couldn't even hammer them in. I had to dig down about a foot, then put the spikes in, then added some stones as extra measure, followed by replacing dirt. This morning I noticed something had started to dig under the fence during the night, but stopped and didn't get through. My hope is that whatever it is will just give up and stop trying. It took about 32 spikes to complete one section of the stockade fence. I purchased 100 spikes and may not even need to complete all the sections on that one side ( there remains no evidence of digging on my other fences on the two sides). I absolutely recommend the 12 inch spikes if you are using for this purpose. If I had to use them on my whole yard I wouldn't recommend them as it would be way too much work (that is only because my ground is so hard). If you have dirt that you can simply hammer them it that would take time but be easy. For this problem area, it seems to work and has been worth the effort. This was a lot of detail but I hope it will help someone decide if it is or isn't an option for this purpose.

Great for welded wire fencing
Used these stakes to secure the bottom of a welded wire fence that I put up for our medium sized dogs. Works very good, only issue was that my ground was very rocky and full of tree roots, making it difficult for me to find clear enough soil to pound these 12 inch stakes in. I used a block of 2x4 scrap and a regular hammer to drive these into the ground. No problems.

These saved my outdoor Christmas decorations!
Very sturdy! Everyone else’s Christmas decorations blew over in heavy winds we had over the holidays but mine stayed standing tall! The stakes that came with my decorations were sturdy but they weren’t long enough. This did the trick!

Good quality for the price
Fairly strong and sturdy stakes. I used to secure the bottom of wire fencing so my dog doesn’t escape underneath it. So far so good.
