You can have too much of a good thing.
All the different products I've tried against Candida , this product has been hands-down the most effective, followed closely by diatomaceous earth and lemon juice added to water. However if you have a heavy infestation, you may need more than one box .If you use it for more than 15 days in a row you might want to take time out to detox . Killing old candida cells dumps toxic compounds straight into your gut . My skin turned almost entirely green after about 20 days of use .I just told my doctor about this product, and she commented, Renew Life is a good company. I'm very pleased.I just tried this simultaneously with diatomaceous earth (DE). DE is a very fine powder with microscopically small sharp edges. It is used as a vermicide, including Candida. I've always found the Candizyme was effective at taking out patches of Candida everytime you take it. Combined with the DE, it seemed to take out some mighty big patches.I'm very encouraged because the enzymes eat into the cell walls of Candida (hard to grow resistance to that) and t yhe DE is cutting them open mechanically (really hard to grow resistance to that). My arsenal of Candida poisons (food, herbs) is just about played out and I need to try new ones.DE is rather hard on your gut. Limit the use to one level tablespoon daily for up to 10 days. Then take a break for 10 days before you start again. Otherwise it builds up in the gut. This is a sustainable rate of usage. Some people stay on it forever.DE doesn't work for for everyone's Candida. I suspect, the older the Candida, the bigger they get & therefore, harder for the DE to cut them down.Update: I am working on my third bottle of the stuff. I have been told, Candida infections can take a year or more to results. So I took a quick break of about a week, and then just kept plugging away .First my skin started to turn green , and then I started to get constant diarrhea from the Herxheimer reaction . My doctor was highly concerned and suggested I take at least two weeks off to let my gut heal. So I stopped taking everything for the Candida, and just stuck to stuff meant to heal the gut. But for the following two weeks the Candida just kept coming out and I still have the symptoms of the Herxheimer reaction. It turns out it was some of the foods that I was eating that was killing the Candida . Since I am required to drink close to a gallon or more of water per day and this gets boring, I routinely squeeze some lemons into that water. Once I started playing with the amount of lemon in the water: one, two, or four lemons it became clear that the lemon was incredibly powerful and killing the Candida . It takes about 3 to 4 days of this lemon water treatment to really get it going. No wonder I found it so hard to predict which of my anti-Candida supplements was actually doing the heavy lifting. I would say that using lemon juice in water isn't nearly as powerful as this enzyme. After a few days I found two lemons in a gallon of water was killing the Candida too quickly, and I dropped it down to one lemon per gallon.I would totally recommend adding lemon juice to your water, depending on where you live in the time of year it may not be cheaper than this enzyme but it sure is better tasting.Healing the gut doesn't just happen. If you experience copious amounts of gas, bloating, diarrhea, gut cramps, GERD, then you either have to much acid in your stomach or not enough. 1 simple way to test this is to take HCl and digestive enzymes. Start with one capsule of each meal and see if things improve. If it improves but not enough then you may need two capsules of each per meal . Increase the number of capsules per meal slowly it can be rough on the gut. If there is no change whatsoever, then you probably have an acid stomach. I would recommend doing this testing procedure on your stomach with the supervision of a doctor . Playing around with large quantities of HCl and dumping it into your stomach can be a very dangerous thing. To actively heal the gut you need several ingredients. Glutamine is an amino acid that feeds the gut directly. 2 to 3 gm daily is required for healing, and it is best taken on an empty stomach. The gut requires collagen to heal, you can get collagen either from bone broth or from collagen supplements. Rebuilding collagen is a rather slow process, you will need large amounts of vitamin C . I usually use about 4-6 g of vitamin C daily while trying to heal collagen. Inflammation stops healing in general. You need to keep your inflammation levels as low as possible during this time . I find the easiest way to reduce inflammation is simply to eat anti-inflammatory foods such as, turmeric, ginger, garlic, red hot chili peppers and so forth. In order to produce enzymes that are required for the healing process , make sure you take a decent multivitamin or simply supplement all of the required vitamins to at least the level suggested by the RDA . The two most important minerals required by the body are magnesium and zinc. It is easily possible to strip your body of perfectly adequate levels of magnesium and zinc during periods of unusual stress. Make sure you get a bioavailable formulation of both. Note that magnesium and zinc can only be absorbed by the body in very precise ratios. If the ratio is off you're not going to absorb anything worth all that effort. There are a lot of good multivitamins out there , but unfortunately vitamins like centrum or one a day are so bio-unavailable they are a joke. Alas this is a flamingly good example of you get what you pay for. When healing you need to feed the good probiotics that will help you out. Resistant starch such as Bob's Red Mill unmodified potato starch will feed the gut and as a result of the digestion of the starch it will produce anti-inflammatory compounds that heals the gut.. Glucomannan is one of the highest quality fibers out there , it feeds your probiotics but does not.encourage the bad ones. Finally, there have been clinical trials that demonstrate that Saccharomyces boulardii, is a beneficial yeast, that will reduce the inflammation in your gut. If taking a yeast directly as a probiotic makes you somewhat queasy, then consider marshmallow root tea . Marshmallow root tea directly reduces the inflammation in the gut, and it helps the gut produce mucus which protects the lining of the gut . Since the mucus produced will seal the gut, don't eat anything for about 2 to 3 hours after you drink the tea.

Still fighting candida
I'm still fighting my candida infection since I realized that I had one 3 months ago. I started with Five-lac; however, it was very expensive (around 50 bucks), and it didnt resolve my candida issue, so I started looking for a substitute. I came across Renew Life critical care with 50 billion healthy probiotics. It was a better probiotic than Five-lac, and much cheaper if you get subscribe and save; however, it too did not resolve my candida issue. So, I started researching again and discovered that I needed to take something with cellulase to attack the candida. So, I bought Candizyme and took it with the Renew Life probiotics. During that time my symptoms subsided the most (e.g., the acne, insomnia, the feeling of insects crawling all over my body). However, I was afraid that the Candizyme was killing the probiotics. So, I switched to Candex because the company claimed that their product didn't kill any probiotics. I also switched over to a candida diet (not religiously followed). However, my symptoms were worse than when I was on Candizyme. So, now I am switching back to Candizyme, taking probiotics, and sticking to a candida diet. I plan to take the Candizyme at night, and the probiotics during the day. And perhaps I will try to do a colon cleanse too. Well, that's where I at right now; I recommend Candizyme over Candex simply because my symptoms were less worse on Candizyme (but I am still fighting the candida infection). Hopefully, those suckers will leave me alone soon.Update: Wow. I wrote this last review a year ago in January 2012. Now it's March 19th 2013. I've been trying to fight off my systemic candida infection for over a year now. Well, since this last review, I've been following a strict candida diet. I switched to a better probiotic called "Latero Flora BOD strain" and "Syntol". Both are much better probiotics for overcoming a candida infection than Renew Life or Five-lac. However, even with a strict diet and taking an assortment of probiotics and even enzymes like Candizyme, my symptoms continued and some of them even got worse (like the rash around my mouth). It seemed like the harder that I was fighting back, the harder it would fight back. I've finally seen some significant success with a product called "Candida Cell Wall Suppressor". Here's the website: [...] I haven't finished the program yet. However, the last of my symptoms are finally going away! I was getting pretty bad and embarrassing outbreaks of periodontal dermatitis--it's a rash that looks a lot like acne around your mouth. And my ADD is completely gone! I can't believe that candida was the source of all the physical related ailments that made my life difficult. The idea behind the Cell Wall Suppressor is that it suppresses the ability of candida cells to generate a protective cell wall barrier called "chitin"; after which, your immune system can now effectively destroy the fungus overgrowth. It's quite a relief to be free from those suckers. I can now indulge on gluten and sweets and stop spending so much money on anti-candida products!!! Yay!Update 2: It's now December 24, 2015, and I'm still fighting my candida infection. My symptoms subsided for about a month after taking the Cell Wall Suppressor, but they came back after I drank coffee and alcohol. And the Cell Wall Suppressor didn't work again. I don't recommend taking it. I've been fighting this infection for 3 years now, and I think I'm finally winning. Here are my advice and lessons:First, you have to be very strict about staying on the candida diet. This is very important. Once you drink alcohol or eat something that reduces to sugar in the digestion process, candida proliferates quite aggressively. You can google "candida diet"; you will see the main site for it. It's called "The Candida Diet". I found this list to be quite accurate. You can't even eat legumes or root vegetables because these are carb heavy foods.Second, you have to have a constant probiotic source. The best one I found is homemade kefir. Homemade kefir has trillions of probiotics while probiotics that are bought online have only billions. You can find kefir grains on Amazon and the instructions to make it online. I drink a glass of kefir everyday. The best thing about homemade kefir is that you make it yourself. So, the cost is just the initial starter grains and the cost of milk. You will probably go through die-off symptoms. But hang in there! It'll get better over time. I had massive rashes around my mouth area; however, now when a rash appears, it looks quite minuscule in comparison to what I used to get. So, I know it's working, but the candida is not gone yet. I think that I had a massive infection.I think that the doing the first two things will get rid of the infection over time. However, other things that I have found to work quite wonderfully is taking spoonfuls of coconut oil, adding some food-grade diatomaceous earth to your kefir, and taking Thorne SF-722. Please do your own research on these products. This is all for naught if you don't strictly follow the candida diet. It took me a long time to give up alcohol. :( But I did! And now I'm finally on the road to healing!

Save your money. Not the solution I was hoping for.
This has caused me to vomit twice in the middle of the night. Was not sure what it was due to the first time but last night was awful and not only did I vomit at 1:30 am but I was throwing PVC's, which I have had as a side effect before and are not fun to feel. I keep trying as I want to feel better from this dang systemic candida but save your money. I had hope but as always, I have to try for myself and this was not it.
