Defective Product
The seller is selling a product that has the same issue for all people. The Wi-Fi network automatically hides, and after a restart, it will show and work perfectly. Then, after a few minutes, the Wi-Fi is connected, but there is no internet. Do not trust this supplier because the Wavlink Company refuses to honor the warranty due to him not being an authorized seller.

Update: Not Reliable
Great extender! I'm very impressed! I had a joowin 1200 outdoor extender before this one. This one DEFINITELY has better range! I'm shocked with its coverage compared to the joowin! Looks good outside on a pole and the lights are not bright. Openwrt works with this but currently openwrt firmware has NO 5G bad support at the moment. The firmware preinstalled on the really is "OKAY" What REALLY bothered me was the wifi password has to be really secure. Which really sucked for me because I live in the desert and no one is around me. I don't won't the wifi open but I used an easy wifi password before this. Now I was forced to re program all of my wifi security cameras because I could not use the same wifi password on this router. That frustrates me. In the long run though I am very impressed and I would recommend it to anyone looking for long range.UPDATE: After a week my review has significantly dropped! I'm having issues that are really irritating me. I have swapped ethernet cables between 3 different wires all different brand and different type of ethernets with no luck. Shorter ethernet vs longer ethernet makes no difference. I don't know if I have a dud but what's happening is when specific random devices attempt to connect to wifi after about 20 hours of the wifi being restarted these clients error out saying can't connect or "connecting" forever. Other times they get a "no internet" connection. Meanwhile while all this is happening my laptop and cell phone (android) are connected to the same wifi with no issues. Speeds work great signal is good, etc. The only way to fix this seems to be restarting the router every 18 hours or so. I don't think that's worth it. I have now ordered a new enterprise class outdoor/indoor wifi system. This should fix my problem. I would NOT recommend this product to any friends!

Almost
It's almost there. The good:In router mode the Lan speed is 1gbps. It has one lan port and one wan port. This is good because it forces you to buy a switch. A decent switch and this router, wifi is sorted for the house and cheaper than a fancy dedicated mesh network thing that costs $500.the "Meh that was more difficult than it needed to be":In access point mode... The manual says to hook up the POE to the LAN port vice the WAN port. this didn't work for me. I had to POE the wan with no connection to the injector and a second cat6 back to the switch. after setting in AP Mode it was unrecoverable as a router. after hitting the reset procedures, the device began giving out IP addresses in direct conflict with the previously established router. I can only configure the device by isolating it from the network then reinstalling it after changes are made. if the device is the only DCHP server then everything is happy.I was looking for a dual band router to setup as an access point for long range Wifi. I paired this with a flat panel 15db directional antenna to boost the wireless out as far as possible. From the edge of the house it got all the way to street! the some total of three car lengths. I tried the included antenna's as well as a pair of 9db omni-directional antenna's the omni's got about 15 feet out of the house. its passable as a local router but the bus stop is three houses away, full line of sight everything says this should work.the BAD:The problem is the power consumption of the radio. each radio is set to "high power" and it broadcasts 200mw's. The FCC allows for a device 5 times that with their peak at 1 watt. The limitation isn't just legal though. The only way to power the device is POE, and that places a hard limit to the power the radio can consume. Then divide that by four radios and its a barely functioning candle stick. Its well within the FCC guidelines to broadcast a lot more power out of the radio. it's the site license holder to respect "observed" peak output power not the manufacturer. I would have liked the option to power it via a DC barrel jack and not off POE this would allow for the design of a stronger radio (nothing a soldiering iron couldn't fix).

Fabulous signal strength in the right location
Mounted 10 feet in the air on the back deck. Needed service to some cameras at the boat dock 130 - 150 feet away. Tested signal strength and was hitting 250 mbps upload and download speeds with line of sight positioning and 5g band (1 gig service plan). It didn’t do as well in placements with tree obstructions. Overall I have about an absolute 200 yard obstruction free range of service. Setup was easy. And most importantly, its paintable with Krylon Fusion paint (mat Coffee Brown) so it better blends with the house and pleases my wife. I checked signal strength before and after painting with no loss of signal strength. I only receive the 2.5 g signal in the house and receive no signal at all in front of the house. Mounted higher it would probably do better but it currently does exactly what I need it to do.
