I’m so torn. ⚠️ there will be spoilers ⚠️
Here I am saying I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it, that’s not what I expected to be saying.“Hate F” came in to my life with a Bang, such an exciting start to a series. But this ? This is most definitely a whimper. It’s weird, Jason and Ellie didn’t have much a role in “Hate”,it of course was completely centered on Hailey and Cole and yet there was something about the small by plays between Ellie and Jason that left me intrigued. Then when she just up,and left at the end I just knew ,I knew there was a story there . A story I was excited to read. I story that even as the years passed waiting I was still wanting.Sadly, while I feel it was too “good” to give it less than four stars ,I can’t say it felt worth the wait.At all.Like any good romance there are secrets or lies or suppositions to get past. False hopes or dreams to deal with, but that moment of truly deep and meaningfuls where the couple finally strip themselves down and bare themselves in a non sexual way and start to truly get close, for me never really came.We start with Jason off wining and dining and sliding in and out of charming his way in and out of places, when he chances upon Ellie. The chase begins. At first the chase and their byplay and all the layers and lies were exciting and expected. But after a while, I was like get on w/it already, tell us and him how you became the person you did. Tell the story how you became soo hard edged and jaded. Tell us what you were doing all your time away Ellie. Let us in. Give me a chance to truly connect with you. Do me that never came . Information came in spits and sputters and never in some touching moment between just her and Jason . It was like ,I like you, who are you, I love you, your what? Finally when we’re getting answers Ellie has to kill someone . Everyone assumes it’s in self defense. It wasn’t. But of course they don’t ask and she doesn’t tell. My dissatisfaction was growing as I neared the end of the story,I was hoping towards the end ,that even though it would be too little to late in some ways,I was hoping I’d finally get what I needed. Ellie is hurt. She has to recover at Jason’s home. I’m thinking ok,finally, finally we’ll get our deep and meaningful. No.No talk of their future together mainly just sex when she’s able. Then in the epilogue suddenly two years have passed and their living together in California . What the what? We’re left to guess what happened to Cole,Hailey,Tag,Wilson, the business etc. Zero, zip, nada is said with all of them. No goodbyes. No so longs, No farewells or anything. It’s just all over. What. The. Hell? This definitely ends on a whimper for me. I once was bothered Tag wasn’t getting the story he was once promised. But after this ? I guess it’s ok. Personally to me it felt like the writer never regain her love for this series when she went off doing other things and this book kept being put off. Can’t recommend but I can’t say stay away.

The End , unfortunately
I liked this series a lot. Sorry to see it end. Ainsley/Zoe is a terrific writer and I have read most of her books. I enjoyed this one but didn’t love it. The author wrote a note at the end to explain that she softened this last book somewhat because it got too real. I expect more angst, more of an edge, more heat and dirtier talk when the author is writing as Ainsley Booth, so in that respect I wasn’t disappointed. For those of you who don’t know this author, she also writes as Zoe York. As Zoe she has several series of small town and Navy SEAL romances that I also enjoyed. If you like less angst and tend to the lighter, sweeter side, give those a try.

More of this suspensful series
Jason and Ellie had some fun 5 years ago when she worked for the Horus Group. Then she disappeared and he had no idea where she was. When she turns up on his radar again can they learn to trust each other?I got sucked into this series and had to read them all immediately. There is fun, snarky banter, suspense and plenty of chemistry. Love the bodyguards and their alpha behavior. The women who win their hearts are fiesty and strong. So glad I got pulled into this series.

Suspense, intense emotions
I love this series. The men are alpha hotties and the women make them burn. The book has a lot of intrigue and interesting behind the scenes description of a society and political depravity that seemed ripped from today's headlines. While that was very interesting, I was still keenly focused on Jason and Ellie and what it would take to get them back together.Big five stars on this one.

Why does it have to end????
Jason and Ellie finally found their way to each other after 5 long years apart. 5 years of secrets and lies, but it's so damn good when they reunite. The Horus Group was one of my favorites, but I need more. Who is the new POTUS mentioned in the epilogue?? Will Deacon and Gennifer get their HEA??? Ainsley, please tell me that their story is being written.....

The end of the series
It's been a long wait for Jason and Ellie's story but it was worth it. Some of the events are sadly true to life but hopefully real life will imitate the fiction in this book. It's sad to see the end of the Horus Group but every book including this one is fantastic. Ainsley Booth is a wonderful writer.

Wow
The last book in the series, this one packs a wallop. Loose threads get pulled, plot holes get filled, questions get answered—and one heckuva love story gets told. Ellie/Melinda and Jason are incendiary, and unexpectedly sweet. Love. 💜

Jason & Ellie's Messy Conclusion 5 Years Later!💔😡🙏💘🔥
Deceit, Massive Betrayal & So Many Lies!😔😡💔😭Filthy Liar (Forbidden Bodyguards #5)The final book in this series, unfortunately, didn't hold a candle to the other 4 for me.😢 The characters were still strong but I just didn't feel the same level of tension, fear & deception that I did with the other books.😕 Jason & Ellie/Melinda had great chemistry, even while working through his past hurt of her lies & deceit!!🔥💘Debbie, 1970, UK

Wow
So good to get Jason & Ellie's story. I'd kinda expected the baddie to be who it was, but still excellent.

Disappointing for me, but still a good book
I was a little disappointed in this final entry in the series. There had been so much implied and built up between these two characters, and the h's former career was a total shock and somehow just didn't feel right. But still a good book, a nice wrap-up to the series, and solid writing, excellent chemistry and dialogue between all the characters. Good book overall, my disappointment is merely my own opinion.

Thrilling and bloody good writing.
So many layers to this thriller/romance. Fantastic writing.I thought this was amazing story telling particularly within contemporary context.I do hope you continue this series.
