I'm in the process of doing some home remodeling, and i'm upgrading to smart wifi switches and new receptacles and new wiring. In the process of doing this work, I wanted to add a wall mount TV in the Kitchen. Being that I am already running new wire, I snaked a wire up the wall and install a wall box. I wanted to utilize a recessed outlet for 2 reasons, one is that it allows me to use a close mount for the TV because the plug fits into the recessed area, so that the TV doesn't stick out far from the wall and 2, if for some reason I ever decided to take down the TV, i could utilize the recessed outlet to power a wired clock. As for this recessed outlet, i'm pleased with my purchase. The build quality is top notch, it took only a minute to connect the wires, wrap some electrical tape around it for protection and screw it into the wall box. Amazon delivered this right to my door, so convenient. I didn't have to burn an hour or two battling traffic and paying for gas to drive to the local big box store. As I continue to remodel the rest of my house, I will be buying more of these. I think these are a great value, the quality seems very good and the price can't be beat.

Installed a dual voltage two gang electrical box in the wall behind the TV at the wall mount. Mounted this item to the box after pulling the electrical line and HDMI cables. I have a low profile wall mount for the TV and this works great.

The recess is not very deep. My TV has an angled plug so recess was deep enough but a straight plug would still stick out past the wall. Receptacle does not fit with rough in box https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0069KOJ48?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details which was advertised as compatible. You can trim the box to get it to fit, took me about 10 min. of whittling on it and afterwards it fit fine. Installed it looks great and worked well for my application.

Strong and sturdy and easy to install.

I wall mounted a TV in a client bedroom, and we wonted the mount to be as flush as possible, so the space behind the TV was really narrow. Using a recessed outlet, connected with the power surce underneath, has been the perfect solution.

For real, to be able to plug in items and not have the dreaded plug sticking out from the wall is awesome! We had an area that was close quarters with our bed and this outlet allowed the bed to slide up almost to the wall which we needed. Good stuff! Just a little pricey...

I was looking to hide the wires coming down my wall plug my TV in. I bought this receptacle and cut a hole to fix this behind my TV and ran the wires inside the wall to the receptacle below. Shut the power, remove the receptacle and snake the wire in the back and attach it to the receptacle.If you are not sure working with wires , call an electrician but at least you have the right box you need. It’s a simple fix and shouldn’t cost to much.
