I wanted to love these and I DO. I have a set of Cutco knives that I have had forever and some are missing and some are damaged. I decided I wanted something different and I have been looking for something I loved just as much as them. I wanted to love these because they just look awesome and the holder design is eye catching.I tried the Ninja knives and liked them but they do not have the look I was looking for. Exotic I am a serious home chef and my knives are the life blood of my kitchen. If you start with a crappy knife it can only go down hill from there. Hand feel is important to me ,I like a knife handle to feel good in my hand. That means even the little things like the handle matching up to the Tang perfectly. I do not like to feel a seam and these knives feel perfect. The shape of the handles are just as important and these just feel good. The blades are a nice heavy steel. All knives will stay sharp if you sharpen them and these hold a edge well. The balance feels spot on and I can use these with no hand or wrist fatigue what so ever. If you love the looks like I do then you will love these knives as much as I do. Buy them you will not regret it and if you are buying as a gift you can feel good about these knives. 5 STARS

I chose this knife set to boost my meat, vegetable, and fruit processing projects I fling myself into. I often cook in large batches, and need a knife set that can handle what I throw at it. I get given large sides of meat from family that hunts, as well as buying my own in large portions when I can. I don't care about the supposed wisdom of "only needing one good knife"- I want multiples to work for specialized jobs.This knife set is exactly what I was looking for- sharp, effective, stunningly gorgeous, and the slim profile block fits in the free space I had on my countertop. The balance of the knives is excellent, and they're comfortable to hold for extended amounts of time. The wooden handles feel smooth, and the shape fits my hands perfectly.These knives take on any task with ease, and have stayed sharp. The poultry scissors are a far cry better than my last set, and I can chop up birds in no time with them.I would never, ever put these into a dishwasher. I don't care if they can take it- I can't stand the thought of them knocking around and getting dulled, and the exquisite wooden handles getting damaged from the heat and detergents. I love these knives so much. I dont let anyone use them for anything but food. We have a tendency to grab a knife for random things around the house. Cutting up boxes, a hose, to use as a screwdriver... but not these. Anyway theyre amazing. They cut through anything like butter. Make me think i cook meat perfectly, nah the knife just cuts so dang good so i dont know its tough as leather till i bite into it haha.The block was kinda hard to find a spot for, might actually get a magnetic strip to put on the wall. Where it is up on the window to the living room is fine tho. I do like i can easily spray it with soap water and clean it out. I dont like not knowing if theres mold or something growing in the usual knife blocks. Looks nice since its black too, blends right in.I was able to sharpen one on a uhhh stone, idk what its called but my dad showed me how a few years ago. Super easy to do and i had no issue giving the smallest one a quick sharpening. Barely remembered what to do but it worked out.I would say to get the larger set, it looks soooo tempting. And i LOVE using the 2 smaller knives as steak knives. Having a whole set sounds heavenly.I love these knives so much. They look and feel like theyll last years too
