I pass rope through barrel of clip that runs parallel to sun screen fabric. Also has hole so that it can function like an eyelet (as typically found on tarps) that allows a rope to stretch or tie down fabric. While the clasp works best on a single layer of fabric, with some work, it allowed me to attach clip to edge of fabric that was folded over.

I used these to hold up a 6ftx15ft sunshade and it works like a charm. I simply snapped a clip on to the fabric every 18 inches, ran a piece of steel cable through the cable slot and hung it to the wall/nearby fence via eye bolts that i installed. This is a very simple yet effective way to hang and secure your shade fabric. I would also like to say that I live in southwest Florida and we get very high winds during thunderstorms and it has not showed any signs of coming loose.

These are holding my fabric (60% shade cloth) fantastically. We've had a lot of wind, and I've only had one time when it was an issue, and it was the fabric which tore. Yes, they are difficult to get on properly. I used two pairs of pliers; you align the holes for the larger pins first, use wider pliers for closing, then I used needle nose pliers to make sure all the smaller pins were completely closed. It takes work, but it's definitely worth it!

These are the best way to attach shade fabric to a fence. I live in a very windy area and have used them for more than 6 months through ice, heat and wind and not one had snapped or had a problem. They are a bit difficult to put on and I had to use pliers and it took me a while, but I did it.

Expect to use these Sun Screen Locking Clips to hold sun screen in place on the roof of our MOTOR HOME to keep the heat of the sun less for cooling that time of year. Should work well allowing good air flow to the (2) A/C units. Check in later to see how well they work to hold tight and with enough milk bottle with water weight to hold them in place.
