Took a bit of figuring out how to run it, instructions included but not very helpful. Use them only to set the timers up, for up to 4 feeding times. Yes, 4, and not 5. The fifth feeding must be manual. Here’s how i use it.A. My timer settings are (1) 2am, (2) 6am, (3) 10am, (4) 3pm. Numbers in parentheses are my tray numbers but you can actually set them in any tray order. So, set up your feeding times. Also set up the device clock, and record your signal to the pet that the food is available. It could be any sound your pet will learn to associate with feeding. Has to be loud enough if your house is large.B. Open the white lid, revealing a black 5-cup tray. Place something, a piece of paper or any object, into the tray that corresponds to 6 o’clock position if this was a clock face. This is the 5th tray, aka your reserved tray. Do not put any food into this tray, as this will be your 5th feeding, which has to be manual..C. Going clockwise from the reserved tray, place foods into trays 1,2,3,4 for the next 4 feedings. Place the black tray back into the device if you had removed it, replace the white cover, set the whole thing where your pet can reach it. You are done.D. This is what will happen. As the device’s clock reaches the next time you set up on the timer, it will advance one step, aligning tray 1 with the opening in white cover. Your recorded signal withplay three times.So in my case, i fill trays 1,2 at 9am. At 10am, the first advance occurs, then at 3 pm. At 8pm, I do the manual feeding, then load 2 more trays, for 2am and 6am, following rules B and C. Then, good night sleep tight.You don’t have to use all 5 trays. I bought this device just to be able to sleep through the night, i.e., not get up at 2 and 6am, but found that the remaining 3 daytime feedings are also more convenient using the feeder. I feed my cat 5 times per 24h but you can choose any other regimen. Have fun!

I really loved this automatic timer bowl! I feed my dog fresh food and he’s on seizure medication that he takes with his treat vitamins. I would always put his night time medicine and morning medicine in at the same time so I wouldn’t have to worry about walking up early and giving him medicine (it also ensures he gets it at the same time everyday). The voice call was perfect too because he RAN anytime he heard it.So the timer bowl has been great up until yesterday. My dog has figured out how to open the top and he ate his seizure medication and vitamins for the next day! It was very worrisome. So if you have a pet that won’t try to break into the bowl just to get food then I definitely recommend this. But if you have a rambunctious pup like mine, don’t bother. I’m trying to find another like this that is a little more durable.

I like that I am able to schedule feedings or pet meds if I have to step away. I love the record my voice feature and that it is quiet. I dislike removing the lid to refill as this could wear and tear the tabs that is used to hold the lid in place.

This works great for me, I have the timer set and it feeds at same time each day. I have a chihuahua. I wouln't recommend for dogs who eat more than 3/4 cup of food at a time, the portions are kinda small.

I love the functionality, it has a lot of promise if only a couple of things would get fixed. The voice recording is too soft, our dog can't hear it from 20 feet away so he never gets the meal while we're gone. The bowls are too deep. Our little guy has to eat wet food, so his snout gets covered with food since the bowl is narrow and deep. He tries mightily to lick all the food out of the bowl, but the sides are straight up and down, so food is always left behind and his snout is covered in wet food, which he promptly rubs into the carpet and across the furniture.

We bought the feeder so the animals can fed on time while we were at work. We received the order and spent hours trying to program it- just kept spinning 360 degrees- requested a replacement and it did the exact same thing - Amazon said it wasn’t their problem so contacted Arf - after days of trying to contact Arf customer service and having to prove we actually paid for the device - they told us both of them are defective and probably the programming board but couldn’t do anything for us because we bought it from a third party! The fact we had two defective feeders should go to show you what a piece of junk this is! The fact that both arf and Amazon said they couldn’t help shows you how poor customer service has gotten!

We now have two of these and they work great for portion control. best if you only have one pet as it does not prevent which animal eats from it.

I love this feeder for wet food. I already have a dry food automatic feeder. My cat knows the wet food is in this, so he tampers with it causing the USB to fall out which wakes me up because I can hear him and I have to check if he unplugged it which defeats the purpose of having it, so he doesn't wake me up. I know you can use batteries but that will be so much money spent, having to constantly use batteries. I will try batteries after taping the USB to see if that stops it from coming out if it doesn't work. And when it does come out, the current time changes, so he won't be eating the time I set the meal on. One time it changed till hours later and he didn't eat which I didn't even know and my poor kitty was so hungry
