I had to write this review after reading the negative reviews. This product is very good, stainless steel, sturdy, be careful, excellent razor sharp knife, easy to assemble, no tools needed, works very well. I can tell some of the buyers didn't know to remove protective plastic coating from stainless steel, or assemble properly with rubber feet on bottom. There is a good size stainless steel finger protector also. I just have to say, don't believe all the negative comments. This little kit is excellent.

The cutting board worked perfectly, and I got 1/8 in. thick cuts for my jerky. However, the edges of the cutting board and the spacers are not finished and are very sharp. I recommend caution when washing as the edges can easily cut a finger.

Still give this one a 5 star rating, this does pose a couple concerns, the very small pieces can easily go down a sink drain or dropped and lost forever, and the pieces that the knife goes between are really sharp, so be careful cleaning. The product does an amazing job on getting perfectly thick pieces. Enjoy!

Cutting board arrived but did not come with seasoning packet or book as described as included. Just the cutting board. It was a gift for someone, so I had to scramble to figure out something else. Very disappointing!!

I purchased this kit because I wanted to learn how to make jerky and didn't have any equipment or recipes. The kit came complete with everything I needed to get started: jerky slicer, knife, finger guard, recipe book and seasoning. The slicer and knife are good quality and I really like that it can all be thrown in my dishwasher for clean-up. In addition to recipes, the book also includes a chapter that explains the process for making jerky and various methods of dehydration, such as conventional oven and next to camp fires. I think I saved money by buying as a kit instead of individually because the individual items would have cost me more if purchased separately.
