ZenportZL122G Heavy Duty Onion/Sheep Shear, Ergonomic, 6.5-Inch Carbon Steel Blade, 13-Inch Long

My grandmother used these shears for garden bed edging and these were the first cutting tools I was taught to use when I was old enough to be trusted with sharp garden tools. They were really easy for my little 9 year old hands to squeeze and did a job that made me proud of my work. (These were really well kept edges to begin with but I didn't know that then.) Not knowing that they're sheep shears made it really hard to find because I always knew them as bow spring shears or edging shears. I actually stumbled upon them by accident while looking at the conventional edging scissors here on Amazon and am so happy I did! I have bad arthritis in my hands and have lost a lot of grip strength. These shears are so much easier to use than the other conventional cutting garden tools that I can do most of the garden one day and finish it up the next.Zenport equipment has a super reputation for quality tools and these are no exception. They come well oiled in a snap closure plastic sheath and a hard plastic tip protection. They're sharp and the cutting action is precise and perfectly lined up. I'm really happy with them and expect them to last for years.

This year I planted an herb garden and a vegetable garden. I bought these for use harvesting herbs and cutting lettuce. They are perfect for the job. They aren't fancy, but they are easy to use and as sharp as they need to be to get the job done. It's nice have a pair of cutting tools that are dedicated solely to the herbs and veggies.

Blades were sharp and worked well, but one of the plastic handles broke off on the 3rd use and before the shears were 2 weeks old. I won't be buying these again.

I bought these shears to use to clip grass around trees and along edge of flower beds, it performs as expected. I believe it is easier to use these shears other than scissor type clippers. The quality seems good, these shears will probably a while, but the blade will have to be sharpened on a regular basis with steady use. I have not had any experience with Sheep Shears to judge the quality of this pair versus other sheep shears. I would buy a second pair of these shears if needed.

I have a hair type sheep (Dorper) that I wanted to help shed his winter coat so as to make him a bit more comfortable so I bought these. The first few snips went perfectly, then all of a sudden they simply didn't cut as well. After this I felt like I had nothing to lose so I used them a bit for cutting down some weeds that had grown up around the house, it took far more effort that you would think (a pair of scissors would work better). To be fair I have never used this type of sheer before, but my impression as a novice: Good price, relatively easy and comfortable to use, didn't stay sharp.Would I buy them again? NoWould I recommend them to a friend? No

Our dog has a very thick coat that an electric trimmer would bog down. Used these shears to take off the majority of the hair and the electric trimmer was able to finish up. It took 2 days using the shears to take off the thick coat. Not use to using our hands in the motion required for the shears. Had to let our old muscles recover. Would recommend for thick hair removal.

Bought these as grass and weed trimmers or shears... Opened them up today and was very impressed... Further was a treat to use them... Easy to work - very easy on my hand. Little oil and hit the cutting edges with a file or stone now and then - keeps them in tip top shape... When these wear out will be ordering again...

the retaining hook setup could be better, it keeps interfering with operation of the shears. I took it off. Otherwise very sharp and works well. Would give a 4.5 star, but rounded up to 5.

First time wife trimmed a sheep with these and loved them, obviously not like a electric cut but worked well

Only used them sparely so far….I use them foraging back flowers & trimming…some borrowed ( stolen ) my original shears that I had for 40 years as I left them on the grass when I went into the house 🥲….

The back end of where the blades meet hasn't been ground down properly and are mis-aligned, causing the blades to separate when cutting. Will try to grind back myself, otherwise useless.
