Mixing RatiosAdd 100g of powder to 250ml – 300ml of water, for a full 450g bag of alginate you would add 1350ml of water. You can add more water than this ratio which will thin the mix which will slow the setting times of the above chart, a thinner mix helps to reduce air being trapped in the mould.

2nd attempt, first time using this product. Following instructions alginate was a very stiff consistency which did not mould readily to make a two hands together mould. I used two packets for my mould (Bucket size 18cm diameter,18cm depth) -and it wasn’t enough. Had to be really quick getting hands in it. It was difficult to peel the alginate off the plaster mould and despite being careful my Mum’s plaster finger was amputated!!!! Not a good look!

Have used alginate many time. This one was very lumpy and did not set right. Imprint was very unclear

Have used other products no problem. This one seemed to set as was stirring so was of no use to me
