Reviews of different jetpacks are all mixed together. Some came with SIM some cheaper price doesn't come with card. The one I paid $74.99 for is a brand new one, came with a SIM card and extra battery, screen protectors, and a soft bag for carry. been using it, very good. Will recommand.

Travel Perfection
I purchased the new unlocked Verizon Jetpack MiFi 8800L. It arrived on time and in good condition. The OEM box was undamaged and in the original manufacture's shrink wrap. It came with a battery already installed (but only 10% charge), another battery in a sealed wrap, charger (also wrapped), a USB cable, Verizon SIM still in the plastic card, quick start guide, Inseego protective film, and a cloth pouch.Since I intend to use this for travel, I purchased separately a Smart Sim card that auto connects to the strongest signal from either AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon. After activating the SIM card online, the hotspot would not recognize the SIM card, so I was worried that the Jetpack was not unlocked. But the next morning the Jetpack did recognized the card.I found the best way to get to the Jetpack's advanced settings was by using the USB cable to connect the Jetpack to my laptop, and use the laptop's browser to connect to the Jetpack configuration. From there I was able to reassign the APN (although at this point the APN setting didn't seem to matter). Perhaps if I had set the APN right away per the SIM card's instructions, it might have recognized the SIM immediately. So far, I love this thing. The SIM I'm using is "Data Only" but I can make calls and send texts with it when I enable my phone's WiFi Calling. Now I should be able to travel without needing expensive international roaming from my phone's service provider.I live in the US, but I'll be traveling next week. I'll update this review if I have any difficulties.

Bad charger
Charger doesn't work. Battery went dead and wouldn't charge I thought it was bad battery. Tried charging 2nd good battery and not charging. Swapped out cord no difference. Changed the charger and it works. Just bought it a week ago. Not impressed.Maybe the seller will send me a good one.

Believe the reviewers when they say...
...it does NOT come with everything the ad says - no SIM card, no extra battery, no carrying case. It does APPEAR to be new but, without a SIM card, I cannot set it up. Hopefully Amazon can deliver that by tomorrow since I leave on my trip, for which I purchased this, on Saturday. Now I am wishing I had paid the extra to purchase from Verizon - this isn't worth the headache so far.

I'm returning and buying from someone reputable
I wanted to upgrade my Orbic RC400L which was as I understand it a CAT 4 device. This Verizon 8800L is a CAT 18 device which is much faster than CAT 4. I must say this device is performing much better and faster than the CAT 4 I replaced. It's the other problwms with buying from this seller. The reviews on this mention missing parts and charging issues. Mine was missing the screen protector. This is my experience. It was very easy to swap my SIM card from the old device into this one. It was recognized and worked with no hastle at all. It now shows up on the Verizon website as my device. Now some problems. When I plugged it in using the included charger I received a message on the screen "slow charging, use the original charger". This didn't make sense, this charger came with the device. Next the battery life. When this is fully charged it tells you on the screen to unplug it from the charger to protect the battery. I unplugged it before going to bed and it was fully charged. In less than 6 hours I noticed the google home device was offline. I checked the jetpack and it was turned off. I started it back up and the battery was at 35% but for some reason it turned itself off at 35%. When this happened a second time at 35% I decided to contact the seller about these issues. The seller responded within a few hours and offered me a new battery and charger. Great response but as I thought about it why do I need a new battery and charger if this was new and why was it at 35% every time it shutdown. Why didn't it come with the correct charger to begin with. I'm having reliability concerns by this time. Did I want to pay this much for something that didn't appear to have original parts. I checked the seller reviews and they were much lower than I like for a seller to be on Amazon. For 50 dollars more I can get this jetpack that I know is new from local stores so that is what I'm going to do, send this back and pay full price locally. In summary talking just about what a person could expect from a NEW 8800L these are my thoughts. It's annoying to have to unplug it after it is fully charged only to have to remember to plug it in again later or lose the WiFi. I solved this the way another reviewer did, connect it to a programmable Kasa plug and cycle power to it through out the day. I can't speak for the expected battery life due to receiving a bad battery and charger. I have Verizon and with a descent cell signal I'm getting very good performance. I can cycle through web pages, stream the news or youtube with no problem on my 100 gig plan. I recommend the MiFi 8800L jetpack because it does what it's supposed to do and that's deliver reasonably fast internet speeds.

It works perfect!
So first off. Before purchasing this. I looked at the reviews and was very worried that I wouldn’t get either batteries that it said that it came with or the SIM card. So I went ahead and purchased the Jetpack and an extra SIM card and now look who’s the dumb dumb?Yep you got that right, Me. I trusted the reviews.Everything that was said that came with this Jetpack, came.I had a little problem setting up the Jetpack only because in the description it said to call to activate the SIM Card but it was a lot easier for me to open the live chat with a Verizon agent on their website and activate it through that. But I’m happy.I’m like a little kid in Toys R Us.

Line appeared on the screen after 3 months
Works great, not disappointed with the functionality of the device at all. However, a black line of dead pixels appeared on the screen today after just 3 months of normal use. It’s always in my work bag when it’s not being used. I’ve never dropped it, never exposed to water, etc. Just turned it on today to find a strip of LED’s dead. Would submit photos if I could do so without giving Amazon access to my camera.

Does what it’s supposed to do! Good price
Operation is easy to understand even for someone who’s never used one. Called Verizon to add to my plan. Just $10 per month.

Not for use in Canada
I wish I would have unboxed this sooner to try it. Once I did, I found out it wasn’t useable in Canada and it was past the Amazon return date. Total garbage waste of money.
