Apple MacBook Pro MC975LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (OLD VERSION)

So within the first couple days I started using my Mac I noticed very subtle things initially. For example, the computer would die within 3 hrs with the brightness less than half its full brightness capacity. It also would run a little hot and I could hear the fan suddenly very loud for a couple minutes then the sound would go away. I never even used it while charging it and still it would make this noise. Within two weeks it started to do other things like when I'd turn it on, the appearance would change with the screen size zoomed in and the font size huge. Then it started to freeze and run really slow. It would just start to get real glitchy and it would show split screens just stuck. I was really angry because I paid practically full price for this computer for it to behave and act up this way. I was able to capture a picture when it started to glitch once, I wouldn't recommend anyone buying from this seller @OpenElectronics.

This is hands down my favorite purchase made on Amazon. I generally like to wait a long time to review large purchases such as this one to see how the product holds up over time. I have to say I'm impressed with this computer. I purchased a refurbished 2012 Retina Macbook Pro 15 inch model from Marietta_Computers for what I'd say is a steal! I got a model with 16GB of RAM and a quad-core i7 for less than a grand. Looks and works like pretty much brand new. I recall emailing this seller for pictures so that I could see what I was getting into, and they were quick to respond with large photos of the computer from many different angles. Overall I had a great experience and would likely purchase my next computer from them, might be a while though!

Everything is going smooth with the computer except I was unaware that the screen would be damaged like this. It’s only slightly noticeable during normal use, except if you’re viewing something with a dark screen. It looks like it’s just wear from being pushed up against its own keyboard when closed.If I was aware of this issue beforehand I would have purchased a different laptop. I need it for school and don’t have the time to exchange so I guess I will just deal with it. For me it’s a minor inconvenience.Like I said, everything else is working great!

I was a little bit sceptical to buy this MacBook as it is not cheap and I had seen a couple of bad reviews about it. I do not regret buying this machine at all. Yes it is a lot of money to spend on a laptop but you get a computer that works seamlessly, has great build quality, is super fast and very reliable. I've had it for a month now and I don't have any issues with the things people had complaints about. The keyboard is great, very responsive, the track-pad is really nice to use and I have not had any issues with palm rejection. The speakers are really nice, clear and have solid bass too. For those of you who may be in two minds about buying a MacBook, you won't regret it. If you have the money to spare, I would say buy it, but if you don't there may be a different option for you, but you won't go wrong with a MacBook.

It was a nice six months. The product was advertised to be good, just like new. Oh were they wrong. On top of it having quite a few scratches on the screen, (which was fine, it was a good price for the laptop) after six months the laptop kept shutting down. And a few days later, it would not turn on all together. Is it me or is an expensive laptop that is supposed to be just like new supposed to last more than six months. So if you feel like wasting money on short term mediocrity that loses function, This is the product for you. If you are looking for something that lasts a while, it would be advertised to buy elsewhere. They are the least helpful when it comes to problems, and do sub-minimal effort to fix their problems. Do the right thing and buy elsewhere, unless you like buying the expensive experience of losing any work you have in your computer.

Bought this laptop based on all the praise it has received here on Amazon Reviews. Won't repeat what has been said over and over, but simply ratify that this is an amazing machine worth every penny. The retina display is so good it's hard to explain, I can only say you need to see to believe.Apple has really developed an amazing product that will certainly revolutionize the industry. This is the same way I felt when I switched to Mac buying the first generation macbook air and later with the first gen iPad.UPDATE: I felt compelled to write an update after a week of use. The more you use this retina display the more you get spoiled. You have no idea what you're missing with this display.I believe Apple has really nailed it in figuring out how to evolve computers. For the past 20 years everyone has focused on increasing processor speed, RAM and HDD size. Apple pushed the adoption of SSDs to deal with the performance bottleneck created by slow HDDs. Now they're pushing another major improvement with the display. What makes this amazing is the fact that my former MBP's display was already better than most notebooks I compared it to. The new retina display simply pushes the bar a lot higher.

First of all it was the worst delivery ever I had to go to DPD to collect as they were saying they didn’t find the house. Second of all, it wasn’t as described the battery dies within an hour. I just need it for my study otherwise I’ll throw it out from the window.

There's a few dents and scratches on the screen and quite a big dent on the corner of the laptop but other than that it seems to be working fine.

Product came exactly as advertised... saved a bunch of $$$.However, it did take a few days to actually send.
