Order larger size
UPDATE after 3 months of riding. My original comment about ordering up at least one size still stands. I've ridden about 1000 miles in these shorts and not one saddle sore. Comfort with this pad is great.Over the years, I've ridden over 100k miles with typical ride distance between 20 and 50 miles. I've had plenty of good and bad shorts and have mostly used medium with some small. Fitting chart is completely wrong. I am about 5'-8" and 150lbs. I normally wear medium and according to the sizing chart, I should order medium, but I ordered Large. These are still very snug.I've only done two 30 mile rides so far. First impression was that these were slipping on the saddle, but I think it was actually slight movement in the pad. This is good since the pad doesn't rub against the skin and I've not had any problem or discomfort on the saddle. I have had some concern fitting my sensitive parts in a good position. There is a seam running up the front center of the shorts and I've felt slight rubbing on sensitive skin. Not enough to notice post ride, but concerning all the same. Maybe I should have ordered up 2 sizes.

Terrible value
I bought a pair of less expensive Castelli shorts last year, and they’re good quality with a seat pad that’s good for shorter rides (20-25 miles). So, I decided to spend a bit more for these shorts that I could use for longer rides. After only about 10 rides, I just threw them away. First, the fit on the cheaper shorts was in line with what I normally wear, so I bought the same size in these shorts, but they run noticeably smaller. I could still wear them, but they were snug. Second, I noticed after a ride last week that the leg panel seams were starting to come apart. At first it was just one spot on one leg. But, after my ride this morning, both legs in multiple spots were coming apart (see picture). Upon closer inspection, I was astonished that these more expensive shorts have single stitching at the leg panels, while the cheaper Castelli shorts I bought last year have double stitching. In 17 years of road biking, I have owned many shorts. I have never gotten such poor value from any of them as I did with these. The seller said that Castelli would only honor manufacturing defects, but would not warranty the shorts. She did offer to reimburse me for repairs, but that’s pointless because of the poor design of the single-stitched seams.

Not even close to size
I wear either a medium or 32" waist in anything pants-related. Based on reviews I ordered XL and they were STILL too tight. Seriously tight, so that I can still feel where they were on my waist five minutes after trying them on. All except the rubberized cuffs, which were loose and floppy. Nowhere to go from here. Bummer, because the padding looked very good.

Shorts Run Small But Are Excellent
The shorts are very high-quality and I love the grippers, much better than others I've worn. However, in my case, they do run small. I ordered them based on the sizing chart and could hardly get them on; I wanted to swap them for the next size up but the seller wouldn't let me since they'd been worn. The shorts are great but you may want to consider choosing another seller. If they were from Amazon, I could have returned them.
