Posi Lock TJ-2 Transmission Bearing Puller, 3 Jaw, 5-1/4" Reach, 1" - 6-3/4" Spread Range

I have 2003 Toyota Corolla which has been known to have a bearing in the 5-speed go out prematurely. I decided to to tackle the job myself, and bought a TJ-2 because it was the only puller I could find to grab bearing grooves in this price range.A unique design and the construction is very solid. True to the advertising it pulled out one bearing in 3 minutes...I was amazed. Oddly, I found a smaller 2.3" bearing resisted this pullers design and after just a few turns of the wrench I damaged a tooth at the end one one arm (my fault).UPDATE: Posi-Lock was very responsive and gave me several tips including putting me in contact with one of their engineers for advice on how to deal with this stubborn bearing. Great customer service.

They are spendy, but they are tough and work perfectly! After fighting with regular 2 and 3 jaw pullers, I'll never go back. They will not slip off of anything and are very well built. They are a bit heavy and can be hard to manage, but once you lock them down, you're good to go. Having replaceable/interchangeable jaws is a definite plus. I bought some extras to have longer/shorter versions, and they came in very handy. If you're rebuilding a manual transmission, these are a must to have in your tool box. I've found many other uses for them as well from power steering pulley removal, differential bearings, transfer case rebuilds, etc. If you need a shop quality puller, you can't go wrong with these.
