Excellent but care needed to install.
I built an extension and smart switched everything. First batch of these worked great so I got another (all form Amazon). That 2nd set and two more after that were previously opened and used... And they didn't work. It was bad they sent one set with none of the inside box materials. In the end I got a set from another supplier and it worked well. So I think we have amateurs trying to install these sensitive instruments and damaging them, then sending them back to Amazon. They work Perfect if installed right, but you need to ensure your power is off, and wires are exactly where they should be.

Kasa Smart 3 Way Dimmer Switch KIT (KS230 KIT v2)
This review is for the V2 version of this switch, which I purchased after returning the defective V1 version of this switch (make sure you filter Amazon's aggregated reviews for V1 and V2 to make sure you are seeing the right reviews - shame on you Amazon). This V2 version of the switch works perfectly - TP-Link made physical design changes to the wiring between V1 and V2 and those change seem to have corrected all the issues that the V1 version had (V1 shares a single terminal for the load and traveler 2 on the satellite switch, and V2 has separate terminals for load and traveler 2 on the satellite switch - a clear indication that the V1 design is defective).I had no issues getting this V2 version to work - it even fixes an issue with the V1 satellite where the V1 satellite switch had a noticeably brighter LED light in the switch as compared to the rest of the TP-Link "family" of Kasa dimmers and on/off switches - the V2 satellite now has comparable LED brightness in the satellite switch - a bit of an aesthetic nit-pick I know, but I have the V2 satellite in a 4 gang wall box with 3 other TP-Link Kasa dimmers, and the V1 satellite's noticeably brighter LED stood out as compared to the other 3 switches in the 4 gang box - the V2 satellite in this kit addresses that.So basically this V2 kit fixes all the issues with the V1 kit (notably that the V1 kit DOES NOT WORK). I'm happy with the V2 kit, but honestly the V1 kit should no longer be manufactured or sold.

Good product that works if you take care to recognize a few things about the install
If you are not an electrician, you must pay attention to the wiring. There will be most likely a white wire in your box (a neutral) that is joined with several other white wires and yes, on the dimmer (main switch) you have a white wire and that MUST go to your gang of neutral white wires (probably several) and do not confuse the neutral wire off the main switch with most likely a separate wire in your box that is one of two traveler wires, and then a black wire (you must test this with a voltage tester and remember if you have two black wires and most likely you do, one is the power and one is the traveler) and the black wire with voltage is your line (power). You will see Line on your dimmer switch. There is the ground (green and/or naked copper wire) in your box that you must connect the switch's green wire to so that there is a ground. The thing you can confuse is this: the two traveler wires are most likely going to be red, and black. You can figure Line (power) which is a black wire carrying power inside your switch box BUT if you have a red wire that is the traveler and if you have another black wire without voltage then that is going to your light. it is easy to confuse two black wires because they are the same color but one will have voltage and that is Line and the other black wire without voltage is most likely going to your light. There will be a separate, single white wire that is most likely the second traveler wire. Do not confuse this with the neutral which is also a white wire but likely to be added to three or four other white wires in your switch box. Take pictures of everything before and after. On the satelite switch, see there are two screws and it goes like this: one is for a traveler wire (if on the main switch, you put the red wire on the traveler 1 screw, you must do the same on the satelite switch (put the red wire on traveler 1 screw). Put your other traveler wire (most likely white) on the traveler 2 screw but again this second traveler wire (most likely white) must match up on both switches in the pair: if the white wire is on the traveler 2 screw on the main switch, put the other white wire end on the traveler 2 screw on the satelite switch. Important, you most likely have two black wires (again) on the satelite switch side-one is the travler wire and one is the load wire meaning the load wire does not have voltage-it is the black wire going to the light. In the TP-Link wiring diagram, notice that it shows two black wires as traveler wires but it is most likely one will be black and one will be red. This is a consistant thing but maybe in your house you really do have two black wires as travelers. Remember that only one black wire will have voltage. Any other black wire is most likely going to the light, and your travelers are red and white. Again, do not confuse the neutrals which are white and most likely pigtailed together, with the white wire that is alone and one of the traveler wires. See also that on the satelite switch (not the main switch), you double up the black wire going to the light with traveler 2 wire (most likely black) onto the same screw. So according to TP-link's wiring diagram, a traveler 2 wire (again most likely a black wire without voltage) and the other black wire will be one thre traveler 2 screw together. This is a good time to go with the red traveler 1 wire to be only on the traveler red screw which is also a deep red/copper color suggesting the red traveler should be on traveler 1 screw. Then power up and see if your switches are actively lit and flashing orange/green to add to the app. Understand that on the KASA app, only pick the main dimmer switch KS-230 KIT to install and not the satelite switch. Be sure to choose KIT on the app. Picking the smart dimmer KS-230 KIT switch installs (both the main and satelite switches) it but after installation you will only see the main dimmer which is all you need to see, use, and operate the light with for example, Alexa, or the KASA app.Remember too that if you are using another type of mechanical dimmer and it is an old one, it may not have a white wire (did not need a neutral wire but KASA switches do) so you MUST look inside your switch box to find your community neutrals pigtailed together. and pigtail that white wire from the switch to the pigtailed neutral wires. "A" white wire as in just "one" white wire in the switch box is a dead giveaway in a three-way switch that this single white wire is one of your travelers (and a red wire is most likely your other tranveler wire and yes you need two travelers if it is a three-way switch). If you are uncomfortable with the installation, get an electrician. If you do not see your traveler wires or you do not understand your wiring, get an electrician. Do shut off your electric to the switch to disconnect after you take a few pictures of the way it was. Do disconnect your wires off your switch and pull them apart so they do not touch, and turn the power back on and test your black wires to find which has voltage and label it as Line. One you take your switch's white wire and add it to the several pigtailed white wires, you only need to attach Line to line screw, and connect the ground wires, and be consistant with your traveler wire positions on the screws (figure out for example that a redi wire traveler is traveler 1 screw and traveler 2 is most like a black wire that has no voltage and put that on traverl 2 wires.LINE = black power line and LOAD=the black wire going to the light

I like in general TP-link but this product is crap. Read the second part of the review. I was wrong
Look at the main switch, in the manual it has 3 wires + neutral + ground, but the switch itself has just 2 wires + neutral + ground. How am I supposed to make the connections if I follow the manual?. I cannot install it. Support it does work only Monday to Thursday. I’ll return it to Amazon. I’m not the first person who returned this product————————After the line is the second part of my review. I was totally wrong in my first review notes. I studied ambit more, and indeed my house wiring was incorrect. I fixed this and now I was able to install itI give 5 stars
