Definitely recommend
Purchased for my 76 year old father who's not in very good shape. Not only is this unit very supportive with cushioning to help hold a good posture in any position, but it's very comfortable and practical and helps him stand up, must be on a carpet or area rug for him to feel safe, however. Directly on the hardwood the chair does tend to want to slip backwards as the person is pushing back against the chair more horizontally. As soon as we put an area rug down we set the chair on there and he felt much more stable standing up in the chairs most raised position. Absolutely recommend a chair it is pretty comfortable and looks great. The cup holders are actually super convenient. The heating unit gets pretty warm on the small of your back after it breaks in after running a couple Cycles. The vibration is a nice added feature, would be disappointed if it was strictly a massage chair with an incline feature but it's the opposite so the massaging capabilities being a five or six out of 10 are still a nice touch because it's just a bonus anyway. POSSIBLE CAUTIONARY CON: my father did say as he was on his way up the first couple times he was afraid of how the material allows you to just slip right off. I'm not sure how one avoids this because yes it is a very smooth material that you would get dumped off of if you didn't use your legs to hold yourself back. Again with the area rug we put it on, this basically eliminated the problem but one does have to hold himself up to a standing position when the chair begins to get up to the highest point. This is the same with any other chair I would imagine is not particular to this chair, one must use your legs of course to stand and it puts you in that position in no time. My father has weak legs and still able to use this just fine with a couple practice tries. Someone with extremely weak legs I could see having an issue, but then again standing up in the first place off of a normal position what all should be difficult and this chair at least gives you the option to stop the raising at any time allowing you to pick the position that you want to try to stand up from. Maybe all the way up isn't good but three quarters of the way in that case maybe best. Highly recommend the chair best money I've spent in a while

Awesome chair allows my 91 year old father-in-law to get up from the chair so easily.
We bought this chair for my father-in-law who turned 91 this past Saturday! The chair is very well made, looks like real leather, and is easy to put together. We got the large size and I'm glad we did because my father-in-law is 5'10" and this fits him well. There are two remotes one raises the chair (to help him stand up easily - Yay!) and reclines the chair from straight up to tilted pretty far back (for a nice napping position ;>), and the second one turns on the heat and massage features. (I'm not sure he will use them that much, but I sure thought they were great when I tried them out ;>). Overall, we are all very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfy chair with lots of neat features and is especially wonderful for someone with problems standing up. I think it will also help his breathing when he naps in this chair instead of lying flat on the couch.

So far so good/ Update ..not so good a week later..Update 3..All is much better now.
I'm an older gal and I put it together myself it only took about 45 minutes to drag the 3 boxes inside and put it together. The directions are pretty generic, but good enough to figure it out. I put most of the wires together before I added the arms and back, so it was a bit confusing until I realized that the back ALSO has wires that have to be hooked up. You don't need any tools to put the chair together. But if you are doing it by yourself and no help, keep the boxes handy as they can help to hold up different parts of the chair in order to be able to work on it easier.Afterwards, I sat in it to try it out, and I really like it. I am 5'7 and it fits me perfect. Unfortunately, the person this chair is for is 6'2 so not sure if they will like it but if they don't that's fine, I'll be glad to take it over. ...This chair is really on the smaller side. I expected it to be much larger since it was advertised for larger and tall people. But it's not. The old chair it is replacing was a normal rocker/recliner and it was quite a bit wider than this. There are 2 wall plugs for this chair. One is just for the heater/massage control. The other is for the motor on the chair. The heater/massage plug will take up the entire wall socket, unless it's turned upside down. I bought a smart surge protector with enough plugins in it so it can be shut on or off at will. The massage part isn't too bad. It's certainly not an actual massage or anything; it's more like vibration but there are different modes as well as intensity. Just make sure that if you have any pets sitting on the foot rest ..hang on to them as they will shoot off like a rocket feeling the chair rumbling and growling at them. lolThe heat so far is not real noticeable, but I didn't leave it on long enough to really tell. But I did find you can set it for heat only, just takes some maneuvering around with the right buttons. The chair isn't really noisy when in massage mode but you can definitely hear it.I would say it could use a little more padding in the back and the seat, but it's alright as it is. It's soft but firm, if that makes any sense. Just hope this will hold up for them. I may go ahead and buy one for myself if it does.Update a week later:The roommate hates the chair. The massagers on the foot rest poke up to the top of the foot rest and they hurt his feet/ankles no matter where he sets them. I checked this out myself and he was right..they are very uncomfortable.I originally reported to the company about a pin head size hole in the back of one arm when I received it. They got right back to me, but since it wasn't where there would be pressure and it was also well hidden in the back of the chair, I told them to forget the problem.. HOWEVER. Now, I had noticed this chair is getting very jerky and clunky when it's raised up and almost tips a little to the side and it seems to be getting worse.I happened to be sitting across from the front of it the other day and noticed that this entire chair is uneven, The right arm sits up at least 1 inch taller than the left. Both arms were installed all the way down before the back was put in.. This is unacceptable and may well be why the whole chair is jerky. But the way it is, it isn't going to hold up at all. And as I said, the room mate hates the way it wobbles and jerks and the painful massagers that poke up...He won't even use the massager now. No sense in buying a chair that he needed and then unable to to use it.. He's not a large person about 195 lbs but he is 6'2.UPDATE:I contacted the company with my dilemma and they got right back with me. They shipped me a new chair right away and I shipped the bad one back. They paid for the return. The new chair is working well, seems much more solid and roommate's not having any problems with it now, other than the foot rest massager is still uncomfortable. The foot rest definitely needs more padding. Hopefully, this chair will hold up better.I read for hours about other reviews on chairs and thought this would be the one to buy, as many of the reviews for this chair are very good. I think this chair was just a bad one. The newest one seems to be better made, andthe customer service is fantastic !! Wish all businesses were as concerned and accommodating as this one is.

Easy assembly
I am a 66 year old woman with a disabled husband. So I was looking for something easy to assemble. I did need a little help with getting the base out of the box as it says it weighs 70 lbs. the chair comes in 3 boxes. It only took me about 20 minutes to set it up. The shipment arrived about 5 days early as well. It is a very close match in color to our existing recliners. The lift function works very well and is slow as not to catapult the person out of the chair. We haven’t used the heating element yet so can’t speak to that but I am extremely happy with the chair! I thought the price was comparable to other recliners and can’t beat the delivery to my front door!
