Another Great Read!!!
Yet another great book from Lily!I’m saying it! I love how this author put in so many little Easter eggs through this book and Soul Eater as well for the other books in this series. It was so exciting to see and something I really appreciated. That little thing just makes me love this series even more!I loved Edin! I loved him back in Soul Eater and really wanted to read more of him. He is big and loud but not at all over obnoxious for me and I found Hunter a perfect match for him. I really couldn’t put this book down.I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. And the spice level is just amazing for me!! Big bonus points!! lol.

Grumpy x Sunshine excellence
I really loved Edin as a character in the first book, so I was glad to see him get his HEA with a very grumpy human of his own.Hunter is a career military man who is out in the wastes with his best friend Charlie on their way back to base after a mission went sideways. When Charlie is captured by a band of monsters, Hunter finds an unlikely ally in getting him back. While Hunter's initial impression of Edin is less than favorable, the more time they spend together the more he comes to care for him. And, when Hunter learns what the military is really up to out in the wastes, he is forced to confront his own culpability and decide what he wants his future to look like. Taking orders from an organization he no longer trusts or a life with his monster. This book was much funnier than it had any right to be. Hunter is such a grumpy a**, but the banter between him and Edin was *chef's kiss*. They balance each other really well. Edin especially deserves someone who is devoted to him - and for all his faults, Hunter absolutely is. I also really loved the focus on friendship in the book both between Edin & Wyn and Hunter & Charlie. This installment also really expanded the lore of the world, and you can tell the author is starting to develop the macro plot for the series. My only real "complaint" about this book is I didn't like how long Hunter took to decide if he was or wasn't going back to the military. While I understand how complicated that decision was for him, it started to grate on me after awhile, especially after he learned what happened to Danny and Wyn, but especially Edin.Three Thoughts:1. This is everything you could want from a grumpy sunshine, and I especially love that it's a grumpy human x sunshine monster pairing.2. Mallory got exactly what he deserved.3. Charlie needs a monster of his own. This was an excellent follow-up to the first book in the series, and I'm excited that the next book is set a the raider camp Edin mentioned to Wyn in Soul Eater. Looking forward to seeing how the world continues to expand.

My third favorite couple in the series so far
I wasn't planning on reading book 2 or 4 because I'm just not into big beefy men/monsters but this book did not disappoint! Soul Eater was my first m/m and monster genre read and I became hooked! Originally I didn't feel like I would care much about Edin's story but with the books all kind of being tied together, even the ones I suspected I wouldn't like very much due to their appearances have grown on me so much! I have blown through these books and I can't recommend this series enough.

Love, love, love!
I couldn’t be more happy with the quality of the paperback. It’s a beautiful matte finish and came undamaged. I read the book on Kindle first and had to have the paperback for my collection. It’s an amazing read, I love Lily Mayne! If you love monsters and M/M romance—you need to read. Your heart will bleed!

PERFECTION!
The media could not be loaded. Lily Mayne is BY FAR one of my authors. Edin is the second book in the Monstrous Series. I’d like to start by saying Edin completely captivated my attention in the first book (Soul Eater). He’s got a huge personality and his energy is magnetic. He’s not someone you can dislike. Hunter (the main character) soon comes to realize this. Edin, being the soft and compassionate person he is, takes it upon himself to help Hunter when his friend is kidnapped by a group of monsters. Despite Hunter’s constant nagging and pessimistic nature, Edin is able to bring out the best in him along their journey. Please pick up this series. You will NOT regret it. Lily’s ability to create these characters and their vast personas will never seize to amaze me.

Adore Edin and Hunter!
I get all swoony when these monster refer to their own humans (e.g., my human, your human). So cute.Hunter is the grump to sunshine Edin. I really enjoyed Hunter's growth and realization that he was kind of a jerk to Edin throughout his one track mind to get Charlie back. But of course, Edin is all about helping the attractive Hunter hehe. The bathtub scene had me giggling afterwards. He's such a riot. The story was enhanced with Wyn and Danny's appearance too! Seeing them in the eyes of another person's POV is just as sweet.Great world building of the wasteland. I can't wait to read more of these monsters!

Great series
This was a great second book to the series. I must admit that I liked it a bit less than Soul Eater but it was still a great read

This series is just to good
This book was so heartwarming! I love Edin he is so kind and just the best! This book was exiting to read and had more of a plot than the first book. We also learned more about the world and the monsters in this book which I enjoyed. And who can complain when you get more Wyn and Danny content?

Can't stop reading
This series keeps getting better!Edin was such a lavander cutiepie and it was impossible not to love him. He's such a good soul, so up to helping others anytime that I wish I could wrap up him and protect him.Hunter, on the other hand, is grumpy and not that amicable, but warms up to the big monster in the end.The two of them meet right after Hunter's BFF, Charlie, gets kidnapped by a bunch o minimonsters and Edin doesn't doubt to jump in to help. And so their journey begins, a journey full of missteps, deadly monsters and new and terrifying news about the things happening in the Wastes.Their romance is light and cute. It's completely normal that Hunter falls for the big purple monster since a) he's hot as fck and b) he's sweet as sugar. How not to love him? And Edin, being the kindhearted soul he is, see is the best of Hunter even when he's being grumpy and selfish. In comparison with the first book, I liked a little more Wyn and Danny's romance (they were much more hot in my opinion and I just loved the way they are with each other), but the plot has improved a lot. While the first book didn't have that much plot (just the two of them wandering across the US looking for parasites and then things happening with the military), this one has a clear purpose: to save Charlie. And this serves nos only as an excuse for Hunter and Edin to be together, but also for them to travel through the country searching for them and, on their way, to discover new things that deepen the world building and set the seed of next books.I loved seeing Danny and Wyn again in this book and I just can hope for this to keep happening in the upcoming books. I already know Charlie will have his own book, so I hope to see them in that one... And I guess the big chained monster Edin wanted to safe will have his own book (must check it, though), let's cross our fingers so that our guys help them.I find this books light because they don't have that much drama (there's some, like Wyn wanting to send Danny someplace safe or Hunter thinking on going back to military <spoiler>which, excuse me, made zero fcking sense to me. How can you even think about going back after discovering everything they did? I didn't quite like that. The moment Danny told him everything they did he should have wanted to desert... But if that was not enough, seeing how the military had something to do with the human vs. monsters fights should have done it. But no. Why? Don't ask, I don't have the answer</spoiler>), but at the same time I find this dystopian world so very intriguing, and with each new book it will keep getting better. Also, this goes without saying, but in case... I love how the monsters really look monstruos. Most times, when reading human/monster romances the monsters end up being pretty normal with powers or some kind of cultural difference. But here they are physically so very different. Wyn's face and voice were unnerving and Edin is purple, has a tail, and is unnaturally big. The other monsters described (like the chained guy or de rycke describe briefly during the first book) are also completely different for us humans. And that's amazing.
