Works Just as good as an Industrial Grade Unit.
I did a head to head comparison of the DOEATOOW CO-5 against the much more expensive Sensorcon Inspector Industrial Pro. I use the Sensorcon for life and death situations as all my Scuba Tanks need to be checked to make sure the compressor filled them with clean air containing less than 5ppm Carbon Monoxide or better Zero!I have included some photos, I tested them both outdoors and they both read zero as expected. I tried some direct exhaust fumes from a generator and both read fairly close at 350 and 360ppm. The real test is using low numbers so I caught some exhaust gas in a bag and diluted it out with fresh air until it was under 10ppm. As you can see both units read within 1ppm of each other. (Sorry for the foggy picture, the bag fogged up from the exhaust)If I was to find any fault with the Doeatoow it is that the boot up calibration time when you turn it on is long. It takes about 3 minutes to calibrate. The Sensorcon takes 5 seconds. While both units operate the same and are roughly the same Size the Doeatoow seems to be designed to be left in a Car, Boat, Basement or Small plane and just left running until the battery dies in 9 months and then you replace the battery and put it back to monitoring. The Sensorcon is more suited for clipping it onto your belt when going into an industrial work place or for doing quick tests.Given the fact that the Doeatoow is currently $109 vs the Sensorcons $160 it's a really good deal for the $109 price tag as you get the same kind of accuracy as the more expensive units.
