it does well in non clay soil. I found out I have heavy clay at the 6" mark and it bogged down and almost got stuck. work fine for regular soil.

Replaced an earthquake 8 inch bit that I had bought with the earthquake power head which stopped working couple years ago. Original bit was rough snapped at the spring when I attached it to my new echo 410 power head... Used this new Thunderbay bit for the first time with he 12" extension... drilled 45 holes thru scallop shelly filled property worked like a champ, saved hours of chipping and post hole digging.
