Well worth the money!
I purchased this the mid part of June 2023. Had to clean my pool completely and treat with Algaecide for the third time this year prior to placing it in my pool. My pool was absolutely disgusting, with my pool resembling swamp water before I began treatment. I have a 27' above ground pool which has been my nemesis fighting with algae. I live in Florida where the summer rains make keeping a pool a full time job. Last year I was constantly cleaning and treating my pool for algae. In the end the pool and algae won. I was looking at other options this year, as I initially spent in excess of $700 in chemicals to treat the swamp water. I was adding 4 pounds of shock and probably 2 pounds of ph increaser weekly, with an Algaecide treatment to keep the pool manageable. I was at my wits end with it, then I read about this product. I paid $79 for this figuring that the cost was a drop in the bucket in comparison to what I was spending weekly to maintain the water balance and treat the algae. I cleaned my pool by brushing, vacuuming and added chlorine shock, ph and Algaecide prior to implementing this into my pool. I still had to keep adding chemicals to maintain the balance for approximately 2 weeks. After floating in the pool for 2 weeks I began noticing that the algae had stopped growing sporadically. My chlorine use had dropped from 2 shock treatments with the other chemicals, to just one shock treatment weekly. I add ph maybe once a month and all other levels such as calcium, alkalinity and conditioner stay at a maintainable level. I have not had to treat my pool for algae in 6 weeks and is non existent in my pool. When the ionizer is working, you will notice what looks like black sand particles which is emitted from the ionizer. The particles are easily vacuumed from the bottom of the pool during weekly cleaning. I have not had any staining from the particles and my copper levels have not exceeded .01. I waited 2 months before giving a review to make sure it was definitely working. It is durable as I dropped it 4' to the ground and was sure that I had broken it. To my surprise it still operates just the same as it has been. You will need to disassemble the bottom cup and clean every 2 weeks to keep it working properly, with the brush. The blue staining in the cup and stainless spring are easily cleaned. I personally use vinegar to clean the two as it removes the blue stain and buildup from the spring and cup. The copper anode cleans easily with the stainless steel brush that comes with it. It is not recommended to use the vinegar on the anode as it could cause excess damage to it from the acidity of the vinegar. I can not attest to the longevity of this product as of yet, but after 2 months I am very pleased. If it only lasts one season of use it's worth it to me. $79 vs. $700 and the amount of time I spend cleaning the pool is minimal. My chlorine use has dropped by more than 50% and I changed from using powdered shock to liquid chlorine as the powdered shock was discoloring my pool liner because of the amount I was having to add to offset the Florida rains. I'm definitely sold on this product and would definitely buy one again when needed.

No sirve

Helps and worked for me so far
Was not sure if this would work but I decided to try and my 16x32 pool struggled last year to keep algae under control did everything my pool people said but too much dead waste in pool and this year with same situation I was able to tackle waste and use this and it kept algae from redeveloping while cleaning and I used way less shock and chemicals than in past and it continues to make my pool stay clearer and as stated I have been using less chemicals as I complete total cleanup over for last few weeks but this product is working and glad I have it as it does help. So keep up checking water to keep balance for water to include metals and this will work it has so far for me and I have used both the Rx and other but this has proven very effective as long as you can kill and drive out algae bloom this will also stop new growth it has for me with my algaecide thanks

Good way to clean anode
I clean the anode without a brush. I took an old peanut butter jar, filled it halfway with an acid solution and added old screws and bolts. I put the anode in the jar, close the lid and shake. The screws at as an abrasive and clean the anode. I do the same thing with the spring so the acid cleans it. Very simple and effective.
