Probably the best price to performance Z690 DDR4 Motherboard.
The ASUS Prime Z690-P WiFi D4, although part of the Prime Motherboard range, is certainly not a budget Motherboard, as I am running very high end components on this Z690.I am running an Intel Core i7-12700K 12 core CPU, coupled with Low CAS latencies of 14-14-14-31 & 3200 MHz RAM, (8PACK DARK PRO TEAM GROUP EDITION 32GB DDR4 PC4-25600C14).I am using the Noctua NH-D15S chromax black CPU Cooler, and i have two M.2 Drives.WD_BLACK SN850 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe in the first M.2 Slot and a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 in the third M.2 Slot. The WD_BLACK SN850 1TB is running at 6954 MB/s Read and 5314 MB/s Write, on this Motherboard.I also have 3 x 2000GB Mechanical Hard Drives and a Samsung 240GB SSD running in the system.PSU is EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 Watt G2 and the Graphics card is an Asus RADEON RX 6900 XT TUF OC GAMING 16GB.I went for the Prime Z690-P, as it is compatible with the Low CAS latencies of 14-14-14-31 & 3200 MHz RAM.I originally had the MSI MAG Z690 TOMAHAWK, but it failed miserably within an Hour! Using the exact same components as above (I have found MSI Motherboards to be notoriously unreliable over the years, and I was a fool to buy another one). The ASUS Prime Z690-P coupled with the excellent Noctua NH-D15S CPU Cooler, keeps the 12 Core Intel Core i7-12700K, under 75 C while running hours long CPU Torture tests.I also use 3 x Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700 PWM Fans to exhaust the hot air out of the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Case. The Wi-FI built into the Motherboard is super fast, giving me a Ping of 3ms and Download speeds of 940 Mbps, while wirelessly connected to my Router. Almost Identical speeds to my Wired Ethernet Cable.Overall, If i had to buy another Z690 Motherboard, I would certainly choose The ASUS Prime Z690-P WiFi D4, over all others, as I know the Asus Prime range are reliable, (as I own a few) and with the new BIOS (Version 1008), most of the RAM compatible issues have been ironed out.The only negative I have with ASUS, is their lacklustre Software, which I have never been a fan of. ASUS make the best PC Component Hardware, but their Software is mediocre.
